Who: Bobby and Josie, with a guest appearance by (the real) James!
Where: Bobby is at home, Josie and James are at the dance
What: phone call!
When: right after (the fake) James leaves her house
Rated: high for swearing, maybe?
Bobby waited in her kitchen a few minutes after James left. It was almost as if she was paralyzed in shock. It seemed so..unJameslike, but he had been standing there in the flesh, talking to her. And breaking up with her. It was heart breaking, and she was in pain. It hurt to think of all the good times she had with him and know that it wasn't worth it to him to wait a couple weeks for her to figure things out. She had been on the road to mending things in her mind. She was going to forgive him. Or believe him. Either one. Really, she was right there. But it didn't matter, apparently. He wanted out.
It was too much. Too much for her to handle alone. Tears were readily streaming down her face, but she knew she'd start sobbing soon if she wasn't careful. The ice cream and sad movies would come later. For now, she needed someone. Unfortunately, Janey was out somewhere so she called the next logical person she could think of. Josie.
It might have been because she was on her mind from James mentioning her so many times. Or maybe it was because she thought Josie had a little bit more of an allegiance to her than her...ex boyfriend. Most likely, it was because she wanted to make James go to the dance alone after being a dick to her, though why he was so late picking Josie up was news to her. She stumbled into the living room and retrieved her phone from the coffee table, scrolling down in her contacts until she reached Josie's name. She pushed the button to dial and held it up to her ear, listening to the rings while she waited for an answer.
