Who: Sasha and Nico
What: Gaming and cheering up!
When: Monday after this
Where: Nico's house

Getting dressed was usually a pretty straight forward thing. Just pick out a top and a bottom, wear some shoes, a few accessories and that's pretty much about it. This did not hold true for Sasha, or at least it didn't today. It had taken Sasha at least two hours to figure out what she was going to wear. She had spent practically all her time walking around debating with herself about what this "thing" with Nico was and if she was over dressed for it or what.

Sasha had always had a unique style of her own. What she believed to be casual might have not been what others deemed to be casual. Once she was satisfied with her outfit though, she snatched up her purse and headed out the door. In truth, Nico's house wasn't that far from hers. It was a small town after all. She was able to get there in no time just on foot. She knocked on his door with one hand and held onto her hat with the other in case the wind decided to blow too hard. Her foot tapped anxiously as she waited. She hadn't realized just how nervous she was about this whole thing until now.

She took a breath and let it out slowly. "Breathe, Sasha. It's going to be okay. Just breathe."

Nico's mood had not improved. God was clearly out to get him today. He had left his house, only to realize that he had forgotten his backpack inside. He had attempted to go get it, only to realize that it was locked inside his house with his phone and keys, which meant he had to stage what must have been hilarious to outsiders- a break-in through one of the windows, only to be caught in the act by the police who he couldn't prove his stupid identity to without his stupid wallet.

By the time things had finally been sorted, he had to haul ass to the video game store and back so that he could change out of his now sweaty clothes into a nearly identical pair of shorts and a t-shirt. He had given in to the bizarre impulse to brush his hair (a rare occasion usually enforced by his mother), before he awkwardly reverted to sitting around his house waiting for Sasha to show up. He was just glad she hadn't appeared while he was gone.

When he finally heard the knock at his door, Nico bolted for it, before suddenly remembering that it probably wasn't very cool to sprint over to meet a girl. His pace slowed rapidly, and he gave himself a brief moment to collect himself (sort of), before he pulled it open. "Hey," he greeted, his smile turning slightly awkward as nerves caught up to him. It took a moment for him to realize that she couldn't come in while he was standing in the doorway, and he quickly stepped aside. "Right. Come on in."

Sasha heard the sounds of footsteps inside the house. She wondered for the first time if there was anyone else home. It hadn't occurred to her until now. Her mother probably wouldn't be very happy to know that she was visiting with a boy when his parents weren't home. However, her mother also trusted her. Or so she hoped. By the time Nico appeared at the door, Sasha was wearing her usual brilliant smile.

"Hey," she said back. Her first instinct was to move forward and give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek as was customary for her. It turned out to be an awkward move though. She couldn't decide which side to approach him at. It looked as if she was bobbing and weaving around him for a moment before she eventually planted a kiss on his cheek perhaps rougher than she had meant to.

"Thank you. How's everything going?" She looked around the house with a grin. They had been friends for a while through Mari and Rory, but it was only now that Sasha was really taking in what their house looked like.

Nico blinked blankly as Sasha stepped forward and did some sort of awkward dance (which he really hoped wasn't her version of the shuffle), and was about to offer a stand to help steady her, when her lips fell on his cheek. It may not have been feather-light, but it was still enough to bring a bit of heat to Nico's cheeks. He had to clear his throat a bit before he answered her question.

"Yeah, you know, let's not really go into that. It's been a pretty sh-" He caught himself mid-curse. "Bad day." Which reminded him that he was supposed to be grumpy about this Sean kid. Did Sean get kisses on the cheek like that? No way. Right?

"How was Twisty's?"

Sasha's usual upturned cheeks drooped. Nico didn't seem to be in a good mood, which concerned Sasha. That would certainly not do! "Oh Nico, I'm sorry." She reached out and stroked his arm soothingly. She tried to forget the little awkwardness they had just had and hoped this would be a little less awkward and more natural. "Are you okay? Anything I can do?" She wanted to make him feel better, but she wasn't sure what he was feeling bad about.

"It was fine. Just a quick visit." She adjusted her hat on her head. It always felt like it was falling off. That was the appeal of it, she assumed. "Sean just had to give me something, so I wasn't there for very long. Besides, I wanted to see you." She flashed him one of her bright smiles and shrugged a little.

Nico glanced down at her hand on his arm and his lips quirked slightly upward of their own accord. "Nah, it's stupid. I locked my keys in my house, and the police showed up to try and arrest me for trying to break into my own house."

His eye twitched at the mention of Sean who, of course, had to sneak his way into things again. "Oh. Sean, huh?" he asked, failing miserably in the attempt to put any enthusiasm into his voice. "You guys seem... friendly."

Sasha audibly gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. "What? In the grand scheme of things, this wasn't the worst thing that could possibly happen to anyone. Sasha, however, made a big deal about it... because it was Nico. "Oh my gosh, that's terrible! How did you get out of it?" She was biting her lip now in concern. He had obviously suffered a traumatic experience.

Sasha was still too preoccupied by Nico's near arrest that she didn't notice the way Nico's voice drifted into the land of uninterested. She nodded proudly. "Yes, we're friends, because..." She looked around the house, sort of like Harriet the Spy making sure there was no one around (which was silly as this had already been established at least four minutes ago). "Can you keep a secret?" She didn't wait for him to answer.

"We both like... Stuffed. Animals. Specifically popples."

Nico was startled by her dramatic reaction, but her dynamic facial expressions were enough to make his smile widen ever so slightly. He hadn't expected her to be quite so concerned with his well-being. What would she do if he showed up with a legitimate bodily injury? Or were the psychological scars more concerning to girls these days? "I don't know. I think after insisting for the eight thousandth time that it was my own house, they started to believe me a little."

He had at least been hoping for some semblance of a denial from her, but all Nico got was a firm affirmation of his suspicions. Great. His brows rose as she said she had a secret, mind already jumping to the worst possible situation, only to be dragged back down to Earth by the reality of 'stuffed animals'. What the hell was a popple?

Nico stifled a laugh, and tried to force on a straight face rather unsuccessfully. "Uh. Cool?" Seriously, though, what the fuck was a popple?

"Well, I'm glad they believed you, or else you'd still be standing there when I got here." She figured she could probably try to help. Her power would no doubt come in handy during such a situation. She would avoid using it around him though. She didn't want him to think she was a complete freak. Besides, it didn't seem as if he had any powers like she and her sister did.

She nodded eagerly. She knew she had promised Sean she wouldn't tell, but this was Nico. He had a way of making her even more honest than she normally was. She just felt like telling him everything, though she held back from telling him some things. Glancing around, Sasha wondered if they were just going to stand here the whole time. She would have been fine with it though. Spending time with Nico was all that counted. It didn't matter what they were doing.

"Soooo..." What was the excuse for coming to see him again? Oh yeah! "Shuffling?"

Nico cleared his throat awkwardly as he realized he had been lingering in their entryway. Man, he was so not good at this sort of thing. Girls liked to have plans. Nico was not a planner. He was more of a spur of the moment do-er type.

"Yeah, yeah, right." He offered a slightly sheepish smile. "My room's upstairs." Which, he suddenly realized, he hadn't exactly cleaned. It wasn't the catastrophe that it could have been, but he definitely needed to throw all of his clothes into a corner before he let her in. "Let me just, uh, clean it up a little before you go in, though, okay?"

He led her upstairs and scooted into his room, opening the door as little as possible so that she couldn't see the mess. He shoved everything on the floor into his closet and managed to wedge the door shut before he went to let her in. "Right then."

"Okay!" Sasha followed him up to his room. "It's really not that big of a--" But he was already sneaking into his room. She waited not-so-patiently outside his door for him to finish. She went from biting her lip to pacing a little and back to standing in front of his door and bouncing on the balls of her feet. She didn't blame him for wanting to clean his room. Just because she was a girl didn't mean her room was neat and tidy either. In fact, it was probably as much of a disaster zone as his was.

When he finally opened the door again, Sasha giggled and stepped forward. As she did so, it suddenly dawned on her that she was about to see his room, an actual boy's room. Her heart did this awkward double beat in her chest. By the time her shyness about the whole thing kicked in, she had already stuck one foot in the room. Her eyes met Nico's in a moment of slight hesitation before she forced herself the rest of the way in. You can do this, Sasha. No big deal.

The room was as she expected it to be, the size of an average bedroom and it was plainly obvious that a boy lived here. "It's nice," she said, turning to smile at him. "It's comfortable." She wasn't going to mention how much she wanted to jump in his bed, snuggle up with his pillows, smell his boyish scent and sleep there for the rest of the summer with him cuddling up next to her. Too much daydreaming for a whole five seconds? Definitely.

Nico wasn't sure what to make of the look she gave him when she first stepped into his room. Sure, the only girl who had been in his room was Laney, and although she was admittedly pretty hot, Nico had never really counted her. She was his friend, not to mention dating one of his best friends, so there wasn't exactly any chances of making out on his bed.

...Not that he was thinking about making out with Sasha on his bed. Nope.

Nico cleared his throat as he moved to his computer and opened his media player. "Right. Shuffling." He got the song playing and then looked over at Sasha. "Ladies first, I suppose?"

The last thought on Sasha's mind was that another girl had ever set foot in Nico Spinelli's room. She was just glad that she was here now. It didn't matter what the reason was. She eyed the rest of the items in his room, spotting most notably his game console. It looked amazing for how much use it likely got. And then... he was stepping around her to get to his computer.

She quickly pulled her purse off and left it on his bed without asking. She hoped it would be okay. Her purse didn't have cooties other than her own on it. She fixed up her outfit as best as possible and readied herself for the shuffling. She just hoped her hat wouldn't go flying off once she got started. "Okay, here I go," she said when the music started. "Don't laugh." It didn't matter though, because halfway into her cute little shuffle, she broke out into a fit of giggles. "Your turn!"

Nico was pretty sure cooties were not transmittable via purse, so he didn't even acknowledge its presence on his bed. Instead, he focused on Sasha and her giggling dance moves. She had a cute laugh, he noticed, before realizing that he was supposed to be watching her shuffle. His gaze drifted downward, and he grinned.

"It wasn't even bad!" Nico's feet weren't dainty like Sasha's, which made it considerably less adorable, but he was actually pretty good at it. He wasn't in school. Video games couldn't last him forever. He had to entertain himself somehow. Youtube had instructional videos of all kinds these days.

"Come on, don't make me do it by myself," he said, reaching for her hands. It was only after they were in his grasp that he realized he was holding her hands- HAND HOLDING INTIATED- and he had to make a monumental effort to pretend not to notice.

Sasha's jaw dropped in astonishment and amusement at his shuffling. He really was pretty good at it, and she beyond impressed. "I knew it," she shouted over the music. "I knew you had hidden skills, Nico Spinelli!" She laughed as he took her hands and continued to shuffle her way around his room, which had momentarily been converted into their own personal dance floor. Sasha didn't have a dance floor like this at home. As much as she loved to dance, she had to do it either outside or at a party. Her mom worked from home sometimes so she was constantly being asked to keep the music down.

She had been having so much fun that she hardly noticed they were holding hands until she gave a little twirl while still keeping a hold of his hands. They were suddenly sort of around her. She had to bite back a blush that was creeping over her cheeks. She let them go for just a moment so she could turn back around, but her fingers immediately went to find his again. All the while, she continued to laugh and toss her head back, not noticing how she had long since lost her hat.

There were few noise laws at the Spinelli household. If you were up late, of course, head phones were expected, but with four three crazy boys in one house, a minimum level of ruckus was to be expected.

Nico laughed as she spun, but was caught off guard as she was suddenly so close to him that he could practically feel the heat radiating from her pink cheeks. He was momentarily dazed, but quickly snapped out of it as her hands slipped from his, only to be reoccupied. "You are a dancing machine," he told her with another burst of laughter. "It's a little ridiculous, actually."

Sasha hummed along, sometimes singing the words of the song. She couldn't remember the last time she had danced without fear like this, just tossing all her inhibitions out the window. Fun was a word Sasha knew well. She found fun in just about everything she did. This was in part due to her positive attitude and always looking on the bright side of things. Today, however, she had truly found something that brought her more joy than anything she had experienced up until that point in her life.

A half chuckle, half pant, sort of puff of laughter escaped her lips. "It's in my Latin blood," she replied breathlessly. "You're not so bad yourself." She reached up and tapped the tip of his nose with her finger without letting go of his hand. Oh. My. Gosh. Was she actually flirting with him? She chewed on her lip bashfully after she did it. What was she thinking? Nico Spinelli, that's what!

Nico blinked as a fingertip landed on his nose. He wasn't sure what to make of the gesture, which he half expected to be followed by 'boop' in a teasing voice. And she was chewing on her lip now, which... what did that mean? He was not the best at reading body language, let alone female body language.

Nico was not the most athletic guy in the world, so by the time the song came to an end, he was tired enough to give up on the shuffle. "Italian blood doesn't give me any dancing skills. We're supposed to be good cooks, though."

Sasha didn't know if that was true or not about the Italian blood. She was trusting enough, however, to believe just about every word that came out of his mouth. If he suddenly said that the best thing for them at that moment was to throw caution to the wind and just have sex right then and there, she might have agreed. His eyes were hypnotizing in that way. "Oh really?"

She gave him a twirl this time even if the music was over. Sasha tended to have an overabundance of energy. Even though the music had stopped, she still bobbed her head from side to side. "Maybe we can cook something together? I can cook some things for sure. Are you hungry?"

Okay, so he hadn't expected her to run with that as much as she had. Nico had approximately zero cooking experience, with only the occasional assists with cutting up vegetables, and he certainly didn't rank up there with the top Italian chefs of the world. He did his best not to look completely bewildered by the notion.

"Uh. Yeah. Sure. If you want to, I mean. We don't have to." You know, seeing as he had no idea what the hell they would make, and he didn't even know where half of the appropriate utensils were in his kitchen. Plate to microwave was his specialty.

Sasha chuckled at his response. "No, we don't have to. At least not right now. Maybe one day you can come to my house, and I'll cook for you. And you can pass me the salt and help out and such... if you want." She smiled. It was only then that she realized they were still holding hands. She didn't want to let go, and she hoped he didn't mind.

"What do you want to do now?" She could have danced for three more hours straight. Her stamina was ridiculous from always pushing herself while doing sports and dealing with her allergies. "We don't have to dance if you don't want to. Maybe we can watch a movie or just hang out." What did people usually do when they "hung out" anyway?

Nico tried not to look too relieved when she let the food thing drop. Her version sounded much more pleasant than him rifling through his cabinets to combine random ingredients that would probably end up in the trash in the end.

What did he want to do now? Nico suddenly became quite aware that they were in his bedroom and that, hey, they were holding hands. He could totally just tug her over to the bed, drag her down with him... But his mind was wandering and he dragged his focus back to the present. "I don't know if I'd have any movie you'd like," he admitted. "You can look if you want?" Nico was a boy. He had boy movies. It was pretty hard to make out with the Terminator in the background.

...Not that they were going to make out or anything. Seeing as her hand was conveniently still in his, he used it to lead her over to his bookshelf which had many more movies and video games than it did actual books.

It was true. Sasha was a sucker for the chick flick. She and her sister knew the lines to practically every Nicholas Sparks movie in the history of everything. They had watched every romantic comedy known to man and every Disney movie ever made, animated or otherwise. She wasn't as much a fan of action movies as she was of the previously listed genres. She didn't mind them much though.

His bookshelf reminded her of something. It took her a moment, but eventually she figured it out. It looked exactly like hers. As much as she loved books, Sasha's bookshelves were more filled with movies than actual books too. She giggled as he brought her over to it. "Oh wow, look at this... Let's see." Her index finger glided along the spines of the movies searching for no particular title in specific.

"Do you have that one... oh... what's it called? Mr. and Mrs. Smith? That one is great!"
