"Okay!" Sasha followed him up to his room. "It's really not that big of a--" But he was already sneaking into his room. She waited not-so-patiently outside his door for him to finish. She went from biting her lip to pacing a little and back to standing in front of his door and bouncing on the balls of her feet. She didn't blame him for wanting to clean his room. Just because she was a girl didn't mean her room was neat and tidy either. In fact, it was probably as much of a disaster zone as his was.
When he finally opened the door again, Sasha giggled and stepped forward. As she did so, it suddenly dawned on her that she was about to see his room, an actual boy's room. Her heart did this awkward double beat in her chest. By the time her shyness about the whole thing kicked in, she had already stuck one foot in the room. Her eyes met Nico's in a moment of slight hesitation before she forced herself the rest of the way in. You can do this, Sasha. No big deal.
The room was as she expected it to be, the size of an average bedroom and it was plainly obvious that a boy lived here. "It's nice," she said, turning to smile at him. "It's comfortable." She wasn't going to mention how much she wanted to jump in his bed, snuggle up with his pillows, smell his boyish scent and sleep there for the rest of the summer with him cuddling up next to her. Too much daydreaming for a whole five seconds? Definitely.
