After getting home from his drive with Adam, Tristan figured a shower and then food. He had started marinating the rack of lamb that morning. He quickly grabbed a large bowl out of one of the cupboards and set the asparagus in the bowl with a mixture of garlic, basil, thyme and a little oregano. He put the whole mixture in just enough water to submerge the asparagus and heated it in the microwave for one minute and thirty seconds to get the flavor to spread through the water. He then put the bowl on the counter letting the asparagus soak up some of the flavor and went into his bathroom for a shower.
With Kainen coming over for an official date he was determined that all things should be completely perfect. He threw on a pair of boxer briefs and set into the kitchen. He mixed up the glaze he was going to use for the lamb and set that into the oven to cook at a very low temperature. He then set to cleaning the house. He had just enough time to finish everything even if Kainen was early. Remembering that there was a possibility of someone walking into the middle of the situation he sent Jimmy a text saying 'Doing dinner tonight for a boy. Do you mind if I use the kitchen and dining room tonight? We will take any other festivities to the bedroom. Should it go that far tonight.' As he passed the stereo he put on some old school Mary J Blige and set off to prep the house.
At about four the house was clean enough and it was time to start the Lava cake. He mixed the batter and poured it into six individual pans to bake. He set up the asparagus on a broiler pan and set all of the pans aside.
"Rule number one, man-scaping. Tristan didn't have much body hair, except in the usual places. He generally kept everything neat and tidy, but he had a good feeling about tonight and could not take any chances. He grabbed his 'special' trimmer and set to work. Once everything was in order he washed his hands and went to the closet. "Tck. Tck. What to wear." He had to make a good impression. What you wore on a date was a statement of the type of work you were willing to put into developing a relationship. He decided on a black pair of slacks with a dark blue shirt and a black tie. He completed the outfit with some black cuff-links and a spritz of the latest A&F scent.
He checked that the lamb was nearly done, and much as he expected it was the perfect shade of pink in the center. He took the large baking dish out and set it on the stove with the lid on to hold the moisture in. He took a quick peak at the clock and it was 5:45. He set the oven to 350 and slid the cake pans in. The asparagus would go last as it broiled for only 15 minutes.
The last step was the Table. Tristan was fond of the idea of the dinner party. So much so that he had a hope chest full of the required items. He pulled out his silver candlestick holders and his blue and burgundy table clothes. He selected a simple yet elegant set of silver and his most expensive china. "I should face it, I'm a woman." He smiled to himself and set to work setting up the mood in the dining room. Once he was finished there he set the settings for his stereo with a possibility of six cd's. Each one screaming 'Fuck me,' each in their own special way. He set up candles on the furniture where they would be safe and set a soy massage oil candle on the nightstand in case the mood called for some wax play. "Done."
He checked the cakes. He had premixed the chocolate sauce for the centers and set that to warming after putting the asparagus in to broil. Just as the timer on the oven went off there was a knock on the door. He lit the candles and yelled, "I'll be right there!"
