WHO: Nathan and Seniors + friends (everyone basically)
WHAT: Pre-Graduation party
WHERE: Howard guest house
WHEN: Saturday, May 13th; starting at 8 PM (forward dated)
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In progress

Nathan loved the family guest house. He would often visit there to get away from his parents and his brother. It was a two-story 6 bedroom, 3 bath with a large kitchen that was within walking distance from one of the beaches that Frye Island had to offer. His favorite thing about the place was that it had a large deck upstairs that you could look out from and see the water even at night. It was just so relaxing there, and he couldn't think of any place better to hold a party. The place had only been somewhat decorated for the occasion, mostly the exterior so people could find it easily, but not much. The great thing was that if anything had been broken during the event it was easily replaceable. Some of Johnny's larger equipment was still setup in the house so the evening's DJ didn't have to lug it back and forth. The drink station was ready and prepared to be attacked by thirsty teens; the pizza place was also on standby in case they ran out of food and needed more. Nathan Howard wasn't sure how tonight would end but he knew it would be worth it.

As the doorbell rang and the first guests began to arrive, Nathan flung the large double doors open. Seeing more than he would've expected at first, he grinned widely. "My friends, welcome to my home and to the rest of our lives!"

"I have a few ideas," Savannah answered him smugly. "If it was nice out, I'd suggest a walk..." Unfortunately, although it was a beautiful evening, it could hardly be considered warm enough to spend any length of time outside. "But, alas, we'll just have to make due." She paused, then added, "Unfortunately, most of my ideas would require you to put down your beer. Though I'm open to suggestions."

"Unfortunately, I'd have to decline the walk since it would require us to leave the party and I can't exactly leave when it was sort of my idea." He laughed a bit before taking a few gulps and then put his cup back down, "But ask and you shall receive." He gave her a look as if he was thinking rather hard and then took her hand in his. Nathan started to pull her along slowly as he came up with ideas, "We could look out from the upstairs balcony and get a look at the ocean, or go out back and get insanely drunk, or play beer pong, or..." He stopped in the middle of the crowd and turned to her, pulling her close to him, "maybe just dance the night away?"

Savannah allowed him to guide her, listening to his ideas curiously. Some sounded nicer than others -- but, really, she was such a girl...

"Dancing?" she answered with a laugh. "That was the very next thing on my list." Although it sadly required both of them to abandon their drinks.

"I didn't think you were much of a partier, to tell you the truth."

"Just because I have made it through high school without being smeared all over Songbird's website, it doesn't mean I don't know how to have a good time," he stated matter-of-factly. Nathan turned to her with a grin on his lips, pulling her towards him. "I just seem to know how to better handle myself when it comes to things I want." He stepped in close to her and placed his hands on her hips, despite whatever the speed of the song was. He wasn't really paying attention at the moment and was more focusing on Savannah.

"So are you impressed yet?" He was mostly talking about the party though it sounded very general.

Savannah laughed softly, letting him pull her close. Her own arms rose, pulling him a fraction of an inch closer to her. Despite the beat of the music, she easily followed his lead into a much slower, more personal dance. It was easy to forget the other teenagers and the music around them, easy to move to their own rhythm.

"Yes," she answered softly with a knowing smile. "And I'm not easily impressed."

It was probably more accurate to say that not many boys took the time to impress her -- Nathan was certainly the only one to make her feel this way -- giddy, tingly, unsure...

"Do you have any more tricks up your sleeve?"

"Maybe, but where would the fun be in telling you? You don't want to know all a magician's secrets, do you?" Nathan couldn't believe he just related himself to being a magician but hopefully it didn't sound too horrible. "But, if you're too eager, I'm sure I have an idea that might surprise you." He smirked a bit as they danced closely together, his hands caressing her hips as the moved in sync with one another.

Fortunately for Nathan, Savannah's mind didn't linger long on the image of Nathan in a pointed hat decorated with yellow stars. She did laugh at the thought, a soft giggle that soon became a grin.

"You're forgetting," she scolded softly, body moving in rhythm with his to a beat no one else could hear. They might have been dancing on the moon for all Savannah cared about the rest of the party -- her brother included. "I'm the girl who wants to build a super tank. Maybe use it to rule the world..." There was a sparkle in her eye that was not entirely due to her earlier drink. "Keep impressing me like this, and I might share it with you."
