Rory had never much cared for winter. The most obvious reason for his dislike was, of course, that winter coincided with the time that disease ran rampant through the small island town and Rory always managed to catch something every single month of the winter. But then, there was also the snow. Rory didn't really mind snow, in theory. It was very pretty and it made his brothers happy to build forts with it and to fling it at each other, so Rory couldn't hate it completely. On the other hand, when your main mode of transport involved wheels, snow (and its sinister counterpart, ice) added far more complications to your day, and Rory didn't much like complications. On this particular day, however, he at least had a little help. Much as he hated to admit it, it was easier to gain traction in the snow when someone was pushing his wheelchair than when he was controlling it himself, so he'd let Eisen wheel him as far as the door to his apartment before insisting on taking back control of his own mobility.
"And that's why she and Benedick are at each other's throats in the first place," Rory continued, wiggling out of his jacket and hanging it up on the hook that Eisen had installed for him to save him the annoyance of having to ask for someone to get him a hanger. "They've dated before. If you ask me, it was all about timing. They were probably just too young and silly to know what to do with each other the first time around," Rory concluded in a satisfied tone. "Shakespeare really knew what he was doing, obviously."
Wheeling into the kitchen, Rory inspected it, looking for signs of last night's soirée with Lexie. The brownies on the counter were the biggest hint, and Rory's mouth turned up at the corners a little as he looked at the little sprinkle interrobangs on each one. He crossed the room to peek inside the refrigerator and when he closed it the half smile had been replaced by a grin that reached his eyes. "I knew it!" he chirped blissfully. "You didn't even have enough to bring to practice, did you?"
