Lexie had been looking forward to tonight all week. In her weaker moments, she'd even been counting the days, the hours. It had just been... a bad week. Terrible, even. As if the family drama wasn't enough, now she had to deal with being responsible for the heartbreak of an adorable 17-year-old child. Talking to Macy about it had made her feel a little better, at least, but she couldn't help but feel bad for the poor boy. She'd had to turn down a few other boys over the course of her life, but most of them... well. Most of them had only seen her as a piece of meat, and she hadn't really been terribly close with them. Not that she'd be close with Jacen. But she still thought of him as a sibling, almost, and it wasn't fun for her to see him hurting. Still... Macy was right. She couldn't dwell on it so much that it depressed her as much as it did him. She could only hope that he could be resilient. In the mean time, Lexie had David to focus on.
Unsurprisingly, she'd been selected and revised her outfit at least twelve times over the course of the week, but had eventually settled on a purple summer dress and some of her best shoes, crowned with her favorite necklace. She hoped she made the right choice as she walked up the stairs to his apartment. She already knew that he thought she was cute, which was definitely a step in the right direction. Maybe one of these days she'd have to go shopping for something a little less "cute" and a little more... seductive. But not yet. She needed to know exactly what was going on with them before she made any sort of commitment to a dress. Lexie pursed her lips momentarily. No. Bad. No using the "c" word. Any mention of commitment in conversation would almost definitely scare David away, and that was definitely not a risk she was willing to take. Gaining the top of the stairs, Lexie did one last check to make sure everything was in order with her appearance before she knocked on the door.
