Labor...sucks. Was all Josie could think for those hours since she woke up at three in the morning with contractions. She thanked the Lord that Mrs. Silverman said to call her if she needed anything, she had truly been a guardian angel these past few months. Also Toby was an angel to babysit, she hoped her little one would be just as good. But it being her son she was pretty sure that wasn't going to happen. He was going to be a little hellion...and she wouldn't want it any other way. After hours and hours of contractions and pushing and breathing she heard the most beautiful sound ever...a baby's cry. Her baby's cry. She remembered how she didn't even wait for them to clean him up, she held him in her arms and gazed into his face, her baby's face and completely lost it. After getting both of them cleaned up they moved Josie and her son into their room in the maternity ward, while Ari called her brothers to give them the good news.
Josie had barely let her son go for one minute since he got cleaned up and all the tests were done. She could hardly believe he was hers, her baby, he was here finally, after months of waiting he was finally here. All the apprehension and fear she felt melted away the minute she saw his face. Her precious her beautiful baby boy. She heard the door to her room open and the face that greeted her made her break into a bright grin,
"Hey you, come on over and meet your nephew."
The word nephew made him feel old. J.J. was still in high school, he wasn't supposed to be an uncle yet! But here he was, standing in a hospital room with just Josie and her baby. His big sister had a baby. If he had't been around for the crazines that had been her pregnancy, he wouldn't have believed it. He probably would have chalked it all up to a really dumb practical joke. In fact, he was still wary, despite the evidence.
And yet, he came forward to See the baby, at Josie's insistance. Once at her side, he peered at the small creature in her arms and scrunched up his face. "He's kinda splotchy, Jo." Babies are weird.
ooc:sorry this took me so long to put up. Today was waaaay more away from home time than I thought!! Also! Yay small J.J. icons!!
