Gangs of NYX OOC

Hey there everybody! This is Nick and I'm bringing in a new character! Peter Parker to be exact. A few things to know about Peter for all you Brotherhood peeps out there; Pete is a Sentinel. That's right, you heard that correctly. Peter Parker is a Sentinel. ZOMG!GASP! /dramatics

A normal human that grew up in NYC, Peter had a hard knock life with out all of that singing. His history is pretty similar to cannon with a few exceptions. All of the details can be found here in his profile for the curious few. What has stayed the same is his uncle's death which Pete had taken to heart. He felt the senseless murder was his fault and has warped his life around that moment. So to keep things like that from happening to others, he became a cop. Because of his tenacious attitude and deductive skills, he was transfered to the Sentinels.

Now what does that mean for the folks of Mutant Town? Whyyy it means that people won't be able to get away with nearly as much any more. ;) Pete is damn near relentless in the chase. He's also a decent person and an exceptional cop. So he may bust your ass but he's not going to beat you senseless. He's not crooked like some of the people on the force. So no worries there.

SO! Plot suggestions and ideas would be much appreciated! I think it was more or less unofficially decided that he'll be partnered up with Paladin? I'm not too sure but we can definitely work that out. If you have any ideas, feel free to drop them here! I look forward to playing with you all with both characters. :D my aim is still nightcrwlr48 if you want to chat or plot on there.

Okay guys, hi! It's Callirhoe with a fourth (yikes!) character. Please meet Riptide, aka Janos Quested... he just goes by Riptide, his MUTANT NAME, because he hates humans. Like, a lot. He's new in town, just got out of prison after like twelve years in there, has had an eventful past which you can read about in his profile if you like. If that is tl;dr for you, then just know that he is a career criminal, originally from Chicago, who has done many bad things over his lifetime, including some of them in NYC, and now he is here and ready to wreak havoc on the humans of M-Town. His mutation is the ability to spin his body at hurricane speeds, and he grows these bone shards that come out of his skin (hi, Marrow!) which he can fling as superfast projectiles. And also he has purple eyes. :)

Riptide's only been around M-Town for a couple of weeks (squatting in Broho territory, though he doesn't know it, so if anybody wants to come give him the "move along now" speech, I am game for that!), but oh man, does he have Plans. He will soon begin to collect mutant toughs and thugs around him in his quest to drive the humans out of M-Town in response to the Friends of Humanity muscling up; these thugs will become the Marauders, with sponsorship from Essex who will use them to peddle his mutant drugs. I anticipate that they'll clash with everybody at some point or other, but I am hoping for some kind of truce or deal with the Brotherhood, since the FoH are their enemy in common.

And, of course, I am looking for some more dangerous human-hating mutants to join his few, his happy few, his band of brothers. If you're looking for another character to pick up, do consider a Marauder -- it could be awesome, guys! They'll obviously be different from in the comics, but any of these guys would be welcome (though Riptide would have to be super impressed by any of the ladies to allow them to join; he's pretty darn sexist, sorry), or anyone who wants to defect from the Broho or the Morlocks or anywhere else. Riptide will be recruiting in-game as well. :)

So! If anybody wants some plot or backstory with him, let me know! Since he's new in town and has spent the last decade+ in prison, I imagine not many people would know him right now, but he was in NYC before getting shipped off to the big house, so there's a possibility there. For future plot, any Broho members might clash with him or make deals with him; any purveyor of dubiously-legal goods might sell to him (or, once he gets with Sinister, buy from him); any prostitute might, uh, do business with him. <3

Hello again. It's me, Jay. Because I'm crazy and have too much imagination to not pick up more characters XD

This time I bring you Regan Wyngarde, daughter of Jason Wyngarde. Though she doesn't know him by anything other than his name. It's kind of sad, because she has this idealistic image of who her father is as a person. Boy, is she in for a rude awakening.

Anyway, Regan has what you might call a riches to rags story, but it was entirely by choice. She was born on the Upper East Side in New York to a very rich mommy who eventually married her very rich step-daddy. She's been a spoiled brat her entire life and thinks she deserves the best of the best. Eventually, she got tired of her step-dad treating both her and her mom badly and she got annoyed with her mom for not having a backbone. So she disowned her parents and went off on her own.

I like to compare her transformation to the one her PB's taken in real life. Pristine princess to independent and a little too grown up.

She has the same powers as her dad, pretty much. Projecting illusions. She's yet to find out that they're psychosomatic, though I have plans for that. Unlike her dad, she's got a touch of telepathy, though she isn't entirely aware. The times she's used it up to now have been entirely accidental.

This time around, I bring you Remy LeBeau. He's cocky, stubborn and over confident with a sketchy past. In short, He was excommunicated from New Orleans by the Thieves Guild and became a thief for hire. After some time of traveling and avoiding his enemies(gov't, people he double crossed etc), Remy stopped offering his services to the highest bidder and took refuge in Mutant Town. He's curious about other mutants and became affiliated with the Brotherhood after a little 'confrontation' with some punks. He's loyal to the Brotherhood and has plenty of connections throughout the city. He's taken some interest in Rogue and has a quite a rivalry with Logan.

As I said before, He has plenty of connections throughout Mutant Town so it could be safe to assume he knows some of the non-Broho characters. So Meesha, here! Late to the game, as usual! But lookie! Hey! I got a new character!

This here is Typhoid Mary, with whom I took a lot of liberties. What I did was decide to make her less crazy, which is good, which means she'll be far more social. Comic Mary has got DID (like Aurora) but, um, Mary is a sexual predator and blood thirsty killer. Normally. This Mary is just a bipolar sociopath and hooker (I kept that part!) I've also written Matt Murdock completely out of her history, in the comics, new to his abilities, accidentally kicks her out of a window. Whoops. And then some stuff happens and she wants to kill him.

Anyways... Mary. Typhoid. She grew up at the Essex Home and that kind of messed her up, so bad she's blocked out all the memories of it. And then since she didn't have a proper upbringing she kind of became a prostitute now working for Jason Wyngarde, an affiliate of the Hellfire Club. She doesn't dance there or anything, but she's there a lot, looking for johns. During the day she helps out at Moira's clinic and pretends to be a good girl, while she keeps her deep, dark secret.

I keep forgetting stuff. Mary is a mutant. She's got three low-level psionic powers. Firstly is pyrokinesis, telekinesis and the ability to implant mental suggestions. Her full profile is HERE.

Oh. And I should probably mention I'm hiatus-ing this weekend. Maybe not a true hiatus, idk how I'll be feeling, but I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed. I'm expecting to be out of it, but around?

Ghostbusters! Whoops. Sorry. Wrong decade and wrong fandom

Well they could call Mr. Murdock here, who will help your peeps out of a jam. Just don't expect to find him running around the rooftops in his red jammies, with the horns on the head, because this is a 100% human, no powers Matt. Despite being a complete human, Matt is still a lawyer in this 'verse, and works for the law firm and Nelson & Murdock (with NPC! FoggyNelson). Also despite being a human he lives in Mutant Town, and is very big on mutant rights -- although he's not a fan of the gangs, he will represent their members in court.

You can read more about him in his bio, but his backstory is pretty comics standard, just ... no powers. I'd love plot! Backstory! Futurestory! What have you story! :D

Hello everybody, my name is Mikey and I am an RP addict. XD

I am new around here, but I do see some familiar faces. So to those of you that I know, hi again! And for those of you I haven't met yet, I can't wait to start playing with you!! =)

Anyway! I am bringing Julian Keller aka Hellion to the party. He's very much the Julian that we all know and love. Arrogant, cocky, egotistical, so in other words, he's drama waiting to happen XD. Some background info: Julian's parents sent him away once his powers manifested around 12-13 and he bounced around from foster homes to orphanages for a while before settling at Essex's orphanage in M-Town. He's been there for the past 4-5 years. Initially, his attitude caused problems for Essex so he shuffled some things around inside poor Julian's head and basically turned him into a loyal puppy. Since he shuffled things around in his head, Essex has the ability to exercise a certain degree of control over young Julian's mind. Without even realizing it, he became Essex's eyes and ears within the orphanage. He feels a natural sense of responsibility over the younger orphans and would do anything to provide for them. He looks out for the trouble makers and tries to cover for them, being one of the older orphans, but it doesn't always work out since Essex can always get the truth out of him.

Sadly, Julian has just turned 18 a couple of days ago. Which means he is forced to leave the orphanage and fend for himself in M-Town. He has nowhere to go really, but Julian is a fighter and figures he will make due by conning, grifting and pickpocketing.

Hello again. It's Jay! And I'm bringing you another from the recesses of my muse-crazed mind.

This time, I've got Sarah Rushman a.k.a. Marrow for your RP pleasure. She's originally from Albany and comes from an abusive home. Her father, depressed and angry from losing his job, would hit her and her mother. This continued up until her senior year of high school. After the worst beating she'd ever received, Sarah left home. She's with the Morlocks now because when she got to M-Town, Callisto decided that she wasn't a 'pretty one' after seeing just what her bones could do.

Her mutation is enhancement of her skeletal structure. Personality-wise, she is very much strong. She doesn't take shit from anybody and has an undeniable confidence about her that might come off as arrogance. But everything she says she can back up with her fists. (Seriously...she's murdered three people by beating them to death) Anger and resentment for people who look down on those different than them are also very deep-seated in her personality. Deep down, she has a heart. It'll just take a bit of work to really reach it.

Her livelihood is street fighting, because she can kick just about anyone's ass from here into next week and not take too much damage in the process. She also does the petty thievery thing when she needs to.

My name is Jon and I'm going to be playing the character Calvin Rankin a.k.a Mimic. I'm going to be straight forward and honest with you all, I have never played this character before but I am very optimistic about it. The version of Cal I plan to bring to this game will be both raw and unique. From what I do know about him, I hope nothing like the comic.

This version of Cal was born into a wealthy family, who over the course of a few years had a series of very bad things happen to them. His mother had died in a tragic car accident and his father, Ronald, was left disabled. This lead to pops losing his job, the proverbial nose dive from riches to rags. It was short lived though, as Calvin took the streets and started selling drugs for money and ended up in jail. Calvin is fresh off the cellblock and ready to get back at it in NYX.

I am up for plotting with every single person in this game. I want to get his hands dirty, some more ink on his body and do a job or two. Maybe, Someone is up for having Cal swindle some money from them or something? I'm just shooting ideas off my head but if you have any ideas or need someone to help you dish out a plot in game don't hesitate to contact me to talk it over and I will do the same. Hello! Newbie in the house! I'm Peter and I'm going to be playing Scott Summers. He is much different from the Scott in the comics. He's another Vietnam vet and he met Erik in a POW camp and they escaped together when his powers manifested for the second time (he doesn't really remember the first time so had no idea he was a mutant). He has a lot of demons and when he was dumped in Mutant Town after being rescued, Xavier offered to help deal with them and Scott became Chuck's bodyguard. Hello hello! This is Callirhoe again, player of JP, with another person. Who is... more sedate than JP, ha. Please meet Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. She's a relative old-timer around here, who's been in and around M-Town since before it was M-Town, and who has a long association with Xavier.

Hi. This is Kelly. And this is Jessica Jones! In the name of the AU playground we have here, she's got some differences from her comic counterpart (she's a mutant for one!), but she is still messed up -- and an alcoholic (so that would be like her start in the comics, not once she became a mom and all that). But yes, this Jessica once upon a time wanted to be Bob Woodward -- but in her attempt to investigate this whole commune / cult situation ran afoul of Zebediah Killgrave, and had a Very Bad Two Months. That was followed up by getting arrested by the Sentinels. If there was a) the Internet and b) the FML site, Jessica would be posting all over that.

In the games here and now, Jessica works as an "information gather" -- she picks up gossip and relay's it others for cash / favors/ ect. She is not always very nice, is prone to crash landings, and drinking ... so umm ...good times?

I apologize if I'm a bit slow this weekend and then next weekend. Events in my life travel in packs, and I've got a ton of commitments over the next two weekends.

Helllllllllloooo nurse everybody! I'm Kelly 2.0 and this is Wade Wilson, but you can call him Deadpool. Before I get into his character backstory, I want to stress that even though I will be using icons of Chris Pine looking VERY pretty, Deadpool is not. This icon right here is pretty close to how his face looks (a little worse though). On a completely different note: Do you make icons? Can you help a brother out? Call 1-800-HookMeUp.

Glad we got that out of the way. Deadpool is a war veteran that was in the Special Ops before being exposed to an unhealthy amount of agent orange. He was sent to the Weapon X facility where he was experimented on with mutant genes. Since his scarring never healed, they believed him to be a failure and left him for dead in the slums. A pretty girl named Vanessa took pity on him, they lived together for a while and then she vanished. He assumes that gang-bangers killed or abducted her so he's become a crime fighter with amazoring healing powers.

Now, when I say crime fighter, I actually mean crazy person. In his own warped reality, he's fighting crime and taking down dealers, pimps and mobsters all over the place and showing them what happens when you wrong Deadpool. Truthfully, he's just a batshit war vet who causes problems for everyone. He doesn't wear spandex, but he has a habit of showing up during scumbag meetings unannounced and swinging his swords around.

He hasn't come to terms with his mutant status yet and really doesn't like people suggesting there's something wrong with his genetic code. Plot-wise I'm looking for Brotherhood bros who want to tame him, foes who think he's a nuisance and a possible roommate who doesn't mind a mess or bullet holes in the walls.

More details on Laura here in her profile (which is even longer than this rambly intro, no lies!), but really all you need to know is that she's a little quiet, kind of quirky, has some serious cravings for affection, and is otherwise a fairly normal, if slightly damaged, 16 year old girl.

So! Plot? She's going to be bffs with Illyana and buddies with Skids, but I haven't yet plotted with the other orphanage kids much. Beyond them, once she gets out, she needs all SORTS of relationships.

Hello again. Katy here with my second character. You probably have heard of him before... Introducing Remy LeBeau (aka: Gambit). I had to alter his history a bit to make it fit with the game, so work with me here!

To sum him up, Remy lived in New Orleans up until his mid-twenties. He was adopted rather early on by Jean-Luc LeBeau, patriarch of the Thieves' Guild. Jean-Luc and the head of another opposing guild arranged a marriage between Remy and Bella Donna, the opposing patriarch's daughter. The two were married relatively early on, but Bella's brother disapproved. He challenged Remy to a duel, Remy killed him, and unfortunately he was exiled from New Orleans by his adopted dad.

From that point on Remy became nomadic in his lifestyle. He has the red eyes, so disregard the fact I haven't changed any of that in his icons. Andrew Lee Potts has pretty dark eyes, so it takes a bit of effort on my part (and frankly I suck at icons).

ANYWAY, moving away from that rant! Gambit is a smooth talking, flirtatious sort. His reputation precedes him, so it's likely many characters are skeptical of trusting him. Overall he's a firm supporter of the Brotherhood, but Gambit is one of those that simply doesn't mind stirring up the dissension between the gangs every now and then. He doesn't take kindly to being stepped on, and while he's relatively easygoing nine times out of ten, he won't deny himself a good fight or two. ;)

Hello! My name is Kathryn (Katy), and I bring to the game Jubilation Lee. I basically took the idea of fashioning a character conducive to the gang scene, so you'll find Jubes has a varying degree of similarities and differences to her Marvel characterization. She is feisty and independent for the most part, but as of right now she is a part of the Hellfire Club. Unfortunately Jubilee has fallen into serving the almighty dollar sign, so her loyalties are sold to the highest bidder. At the moment, this happens to be Sebastian Shaw.

Though Jubilee can be quite closed off when it comes to divulging personal things, she is pretty laid back on the surface. Her sarcasm can be biting or humorous depending on her mood. She is adaptable and sporadic on many occasions, but when one has truly earned her trust, Jubilee will prove to be a faithful ally to the death (quite literally if needs be).

If any of the characters here have issues with headstrong, stubborn, can't-let-well-enough-alone types, they'd likely clash with Jubes. She's fun and energetic, but the girl doesn't tend to quit until her means is accomplished.

For some more concrete facts, Jubes works in the Hellfire Club as a bartender and occasional dancer should the times call for it. She is loyal to Shaw because of what that means for her financially, but that being said, Jubes doesn't tend to go out of her way to look for fights with the other gangs. If she feels like Chinese food, she's going to Chen's. This is probably not going to fly with many in the Brotherhood or HFC, and to be honest, I would love to see how that ties in with Jubes. I imagine she'll be guarded about talking with any individuals outside work/HFC, but who knows?

To make her history short and sweet, she was born in Beverly Hills to Dr. and Mrs. Lee. They were really well off until their stocks crashed, and the two were eventually killed. Jubes doesn't know much about their murders, but she has always assumed it had something to do with the stock market. To be entirely honest, it had nothing to do with the Lees at all (they were the wrong target and were just casualties of war, so to say)... Anyway, for years Jubes swiped what she wanted in an attempt to get by. She nearly got caught by the police on occasions, eventually was sent to a juvenile hall in L.A., and finally busted out and ran off to good ol' New York.

Hello folks, I probably know most of you. I'm Ken, I have two characters in the game at this moment. This one, Tessa, aka Sage, is a dancer at the Hellfire Club and less publicly she's assistant to Sebastian Shaw. She has a super duper top secret arrangement with X to work as a mole in the Hellfire, that nobody but she and he know about. She acts like a random "exotic dancer" but is smart as a whip, well educated and would love to interact with people who can keep up with her. She uses her telepathy and mutant sense to Shaw's advantage, so there's plot there too.

My other person is Ilyana Rasputin, aka Magik its_magik. She teleported away somewhere 13 years ago and only showed back up a couple years ago, having only aged a few years, and slightly cracked in the head. She's currently stashed away at Essex's orphanage, but once her big brother finds out, or if she ever figures out how her power works, she'll get out. She's a loose cannon with a big mouth, an obsession with Wicca and a chip on her shoulder. You'll love her!

Hello all! My name is Nick and I'm bringing in the one (not really), the only (who is he kiding?), Jamie Madrox! I believe a "Multiple Man in the house!" is order? What? It's not? Oh right.. this is twenty or so years before that phrase came about. Riiiiiiight. Um... It's groovy to be here, you hip cats. Wait.. twenty years after that was popular? Oh sheesh.

I kid! I kid! I know the era, honest.

Anyway! On to Jamie and all the things he can do. He can make copies of himself just like in 616 only he can't make nearly as many as that. I believe I topped him out somewhere in the early teens. His profile is located here if you want to take a look. It's pretty close (in my opinion) to cannon with the exception of Jamie manifesting like a normal mutant and his status as an army brat.

Basic Info: Jamie is the eyes and the ears of The Brotherhood. He has dupes stationed all through out Mutant Town keeping tabs of EVERYTHING he sees. He considers himself an information broker first and the Broho's drug dealer second. If there is something you need? 9 times out of 10 Jamie can get it for you. For a price that is. He has a few different dupes that are well established. One is a shady dealer who deals out drugs and beat downs to those needing them. There is a junkie dupe that can be found at any happening party. And finally there is a grifter Jamie who likes to run scams on people just for the thrill of it. He takes joy in doing that sort of thing and you can beat your ass that if it's a quite night, Jamie's going to be doing a few B&Es to spice things up.

→ Warren Worthington III/Angel - [this journal]- He's a shy little hippie boy; why do I imagine him and JP being friendly with each other? Oh, right, he can fly! My basic idea for Warren is that he's a mutant and a hippie and his father isn't sure what he hates his son for more. Having said that, after he revealed to his dad that he was a mutant, he ran away from home and made his way to District X. Currently he's squatting in an abandoned church and rumors are starting to circulate around town about a real life angel. Its catching the eye of a lot of people, the Brotherhood and more specifically the FoH.

→ Sally Blevins/Skids - [itsadrag] - Sally is my orphan character. Lots of people think she's a boy and that's just fine with her, since only sissies wear dresses. Currently she's in the Essex home (again) after a botched attempt to escape ended her up with a broken arm and her best friend in juvie. She's "sick" a lot, but that's really just Sinister tampering with the orphan's powers. Her power is to create a force field by the way, and can use it to glide across things when she moves.

→ Anna Rave/Rogue - [rogue_] - Ah, poor Rogue. Sent to jail after a kangaroo court convicted her of killing Lieutenant Danvers of the Sentinels. She spent the last three years in a federal prison until X and Magneto finally decided to spring her. So, she's just out, about maybe a month or two, still trying to acclimate to the free world and in the meantime open her bar, the XQ, back up. She's a little rough around the edges, but all in all trying to be a decent person. Needless to say, she's got a lot of Magneto issues, since she thought that they were pals and felt like he kind of ditched her with the whole jail thing.
