It was easy to forget about the rest of the world in moments like these. With Sirius, everything just seemed brighter, better, easier. There was so much in this village that threatened to intrude, knowledge Dorcas would rather do without, but she didn't have to worry about any of it with him around. He made it all easier to bare. Even now, when Dorcas was well aware that he had recently learned some unsettling news, she didn't fear it as she usually would because it was Sirius. Whatever he chose to do with it, she would trust and until then she would help ease the burden by keeping his mind from it. And if easing that burden came in the form of her dancing badly, well then so be it. Grinning as she stepped on his bare feet, she found his laughter drawing laughter of her own - smile widening as she leaned in to rest her head on his shoulder.
At his teasing over his heritage, Dorcas couldn't help the way her face twisted up in amusement, lips pursed tightly together to hold back her laughter as she slowly nodded her head. Following his lead was rather difficult, the steps far too precise for her taste and she mostly ended up standing on his feet than following his lead. At the question of trust, Dorcas found herself answering automatically and quite seriously when she responded with "Always" before he drew her in, spun her out, and dipped her low. It all happened so fast, she was left rather breathless, laughing delightedly as she tried to get her head to stop spinning. "Oh. Oh, I stand corrected." she breathed out in between peals of laughter, eyes bright as she turned her gaze up to him. She rested her hands lightly on his chest, hands smoothing lightly over the the material of his shirt before pulling away to mix them another round of drinks.
It was an easy rhythm to keep up, dancing and drinking, and with Sirius' warm, steady arms around her Dorcas easily got caught up in it and lost herself to him and the alcohol until she felt warm and heavy with it. She easily lost track of how many drinks she had had, leaning into Sirius more and more until her arms were looped around him and she was pressed entirely against his chest. She felt ridiculously happy, as only the over consumption of alcohol could achieve, stepping on Sirius' feet without care and nuzzling her face into his neck. "Sirius. Siriusss." Dorcas murmured, wrinkling her nose up and curling her hands in the back of his shirt. "Do you wanna know a secret?" she asked, stage whispering the question into his ear and pulling back ever so slightly to look at him. Her cheeks were flush from drinking, eyes bright and wide as she flashed him a wide smile and raised a brow at him.
