Picking out the first record to start the night off with was more difficult than Dorcas had anticipated it would be. She concerned herself with track listings, turning them over in her mind as she sipped at her drink and waited for Sirius to arrive. She hadn't felt right ever since he had written her, but that had more to do with the fact that he wasn't here than anything else. There was always something wrong. That was just the way of it. It was just sometimes things were more wrong than they ought to be and she didn't think she'd feel right until she could actually see him. At least if she could see him, she would be content in the knowledge that he was there. Sometimes it was all she needed. Without that, it made focusing on the task at hand rather difficult. Luckily she knew this album like the back of her bloody hand so she could stare blankly at it and still absorb everything it had to offer.
When she finally heard his foot steps coming up the walk, she found it impossible not to grin down at the black cover of the album staring back up at her. She resisted the urge to turn to him immediately as he let himself in, rising to her feet instead to finally pull the record from its sleeve. "You must have had quite the day then." she teased in return, putting the record on and delicately moving the needle over to drop it onto the first track. "I mean, you're always ecstatic to look upon my beauteous features, so if this is the happiest you've ever been- Unless the flannel really highlights my eyes or something." Turning around to face him then, her grin went slightly crooked as she met his gaze. "And yes, it is AC/DC. I was going to let you pick, but you took too long. Dealer's choice."
Letting her eyes drift over to see what he had brought with him, she hesitated only a moment at the sight of the history book before returning to him once more. Whatever he found out, if it was from that wretched thing it was probably bloody awful. Holding her tongue on the matter, she instead crossed the short distance between them to present him with a drink. "I'm no bartender, but I make a mean Jack and Coke. It's mostly all Jack. That's the secret." she informed him with a slow nod and a sly smile. "Helps with the getting blitzed bit you mentioned in our plans for tonight."
