It was very safe to say that with everything going on, Amelia was rather nervous about what could be lurking right outside. However the fact of the matter was, she couldn't keep herself locked up all day. Besides, that just wasn't who she was. And it was daylight, no one would attack in broad daylight, right? It didn't help either that she had a hundred pound dog whining half the day to go outside, getting to the point where she just couldn't wait for Gideon to get back anymore. So, grabbing Kosmo's leash Amelia headed outside, trying to be extra careful not to wander too far from the back of the house. Wards could only extend so far, and once she was beyond them there would be no more protection for her to rely on.
So standing out in the yard, she allowed Kos to run around on his own for a while. After all, the big guy needed to stretch his legs and it wasn't fair to him that he didn't understand what was going on. Everything seemed to be just fine until the hair on the back of the animal's neck stood up quite unexpectedly and a rumbling growl erupted from his throat. Amelia walked forward, trying to grab the dog and run back inside but she had already gone too far forward, outside of the wards. As quick as she could Amelia shot out, grabbing Kosmo's collar and quickly trying to drag him back too the door when she heard a snapping sound from behind and a shadow fall over her as thought someone had been waiting for her to make a small mistake all along. Breath catching her her throat she let go of the dog, grabbing for her wand right as a hand shot out and stopped her, yanking her further away from the house.
Turning to look an aged but familiar and unwelcoming face greeted her eyes. He had been on their watchlist back in the day, but nothing much had ever come of it back then. Though she had found out here in the future he was a large player in the Second War and she wanted to hit herself for not catching him back in her time. Selwyn was his name, or so she thought. Could have been wrong at the moment and sometimes all the faces blurred together.
"I know you," he sneered into her face, his hot, rancid breath brushing across her cheek. "You look younger... hair isn't short.. but I know it's you, Bones." She watched silently as the man dropped her wand in the grass and reached into her pocket, taking out her journal and throwing it on the ground as well. It was then that the dog tried to make his move, growling and lunging at the opposing man as a flash of red erupted from his wand, leaving the dog frozen on the ground. His eyes were still working though, and the creature set his sights on Amelia with a sad gaze. She was just thankful it wasn't a flash of green. Trying to give him a reassuring smile she turned to the Death Eater and said clearly so he wouldn't get the wrong impression. "I'll come quietly, okay? No need for violence. You have yourself a prisoner, be happy with that, okay?"
The man seemed to be as though it was his mission all along, and smiled an annoyingly smug smile in her direction before grabbing her by her hair roughly and forcing her to move forward to the line of trees. Amelia tried to protest to the rough handling, only to be greeted with a glancing blow to the head which left her the slightest bit dizzy and she shut her mouth. Soon they were completely gone leaving nothing behind but the items the Death Eater had removed from her persons before whisking her away.
Time wore on, and eventually the spell wore off the poor animal. For a while he wandered the area, trying to find the scent of his lost master but being unable to do so. Before long he took off in another direction, trying to find another familiar face and scent to alert them of something gone horribly wrong.
