Who: Roxanne and George Weasley
What: Meeting for the first time!
Where: The streets of the town
When: May 23
If there was one thing that Roxanne liked about exploring the school alone is that there was no one behind her questioning every turn, and asking if she knew where they were going. No, Roxy didn’t know where she was going, that was part of exploring. Also, there was no one to shoot her weird looks every time she ducked behind a dusty tapestry or tickled an irritated picture frame. These were all things that her father had told her about, passageways that her mother always half-heartedly lectured him for telling her about. She knew there were probably more that her father didn’t know about (though in the past four years, she’d had no luck in finding any), and so it wasn’t unusual to see her gliding down the hall in all sorts of weird interactions with the paintings, even the ghosts knew her, and on occasion would attempt to help her out.
It was on one such Friday afternoon, having been done with classes for the day, and as unwillling as ever to pass up fun in order to work on a transfiguration essay, she was gliding down the third floor corridor. She’d been down this way a million times, half of them with Freddie and James, so it seemed unlikely that there was actually any passage ways here, but there was still an unexplored square with a musty old tapestry that hung just so, just wide enough for there to be a doorway tucked behind it. It was her last hope for this floor.
Behind the tapestry was unnaturally dark, so dark in fact that it hardly seemed like it was daylight, and before Roxy had been able to make sense of it, she was tumbling forward. She landed on her hands and knees as if she’d simply gotten tangled in the tapestry and tripped. This would have been a decent account of what had happened, had she not been in an entirely new and unfamiliar place when she looked up.
She seemed to be in the middle of a quidditch pitch, which left her with the image of her falling through center hoop (which was unlikely because she didn’t feel sore at all). She stood and brushed the loose dirt from her clothing, as she looked around her surroundings. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the grass was green and the whole place seemed serene and peaceful. She was already grinning as she found a path leading towards a clump of buildings. It was a curious little place, wasn’t it?
Roxanne was so excited at the prospect of her discovery, a quiet little town inside the walls of Hogwarts, that she’d only practically listen. Oh Merlin, she had to tell her cousins immediately! And write her dad! She had to think of it in terms of Narnia, if she stayed here time would pass slower at home, like two decades would be scantily more than twenty minutes. Roxanne could do her homework here as to avoid missing something fun at school, or she could bring the fun here and still have time to do everything she’d wanted at school! Roxanne’s brain was going so quickly that she almost didn’t notice the ginger haired man walking in her direction.
The man had the look of a Weasley, it wasn’t hard to spot. It was curious though, as she saw him she stopped and tilted her head at him curiously. He looked like her daddy, but much… younger. Just to check, she found herself staring at his ears, looking for the one she knew to be missing. It was there. This was just too weird.
“Who are you?” She asked, arms crossed as if he were intruding on her own personal wonderland. There was no greeting, no pleasantries, just scanning eyes and a bit of curiosity.
