"Honestly?" she started, looking down at her feet and staring at the small cracks in the wood of the floor. "I don't know how to put myself first... Is that pathetic?" Laughing at herself she shook her head and sighed a bit. It was sad, but it was the truth. Ever since she had been little, Sally Ann looked out for the well being and happiness of her mother above all else. And when her father died and everything fell apart, well that was only magnified tenfold. Her mother couldn't even function, and the responsibilities of an adult fell on her sixteen year old shoulders. And after almost a decade of working hard for other people, it was strange to ask herself what she wanted to be happy. What she wanted first, above everyone else. To her, it just didn't seem normal.
Rolling her eyes though at his comment about his kissable-ness, she punched him lightly in the leg. "Oi, you're never going to let that one go, are you?" she chuckled in just the slightest before leaning into Jamie more, letting her eyes close for a moment and taking a deep breath. Though she was still tense and nervous, it was ebbing away slowly.
"Thank you," she breathed, her eyes still closed. "For coming. You didn't have too.. you never have too... and you do. So just.. thank you."
