Sally Ann hadn't always been the best decision maker, or the best person at dealing with confusing feelings. And when those two things mixed she tended to get herself into a whole world of trouble. But this place... it just made things so much more confusing for her. She loved Anthony, sure, but he was a kid here and she couldn't put her life on hold for the sake of maybes and what ifs. If that made her a bad person, then so be it. But what she wasn't expecting was the rush of feelings she felt for her future husbands best friend, and how she stupidly and impulsively acted on them. Now she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She didn't want to keep something like that from Anthony, he deserved to know. But she also didn't want to be the thing that ruined their friendship or came between them either. It wasn't in her nature to want to break up friendships and ruin lives, but it seemed to be what she was best at.
And then there was Jamie. As much as she was worrying over the entire Mike ordeal, she was more worried about what Jamie would think of her. Sure, they were friends and nothing more... but there were more of those stupid, confusing, complicated feelings involved, at least for her. After all, Sally Ann liked him more than she cared to admit. She had been trying extra hard to keep any feelings beyond friendship out of the equation, but she really couldn't help it when she was around him. He was cute, funny, charming, caring, loyal, helpful... she could continue on and on if she really wanted. He had been there for her when she wanted to push everyone else away, and had been more than determined to put a smile on her face. And he was damn good at it too.
Just the thought of chasing him off with all of her stupid emotional baggage, drama, and psychological issues drove a permanent frown onto her features. In her opinion, it was really only a matter of time before he got smart and ran as far in the opposite direction of her as he could. But until then....
Sighing to herself, Sally Ann took a long drink from the bottle of vodka she had been hiding underneath her floorboards. She had worked so hard on her sobriety, but that got fucked almost two weeks ago and it was hard to push herself away from the bottle all over again. Every time she fell off the sobriety wagon the harder it was for her to crawl back on, and she almost chuckled to herself at how pitiful she must look sitting on the floor of her bedroom, leaning against the foot of her bed with a half empty bottle in hand. She was dressed in nothing more than a tank top and shorts that let the cool air creep into her skin and form almost a permanent set of goosebumps there. She barely noticed though. Instead she was too caught up in the loudness of her own thoughts. So much so that she barely heard the squeak of the floorboards outside her room as her door creaked open. Looking down at her feet and failing to meet his eyes, she said," Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes."
