When the creatures first arrived, Hannah found herself working with Alice and Anthony to gather up the younger ones in an attempt to get them to safety. The mission quickly changed to assisting the sick and injured. They'd found a place to hunker down so they could assess the group and Hannah had been charged with returning to find any stragglers.
The trip back toward the castle had been hard fought. She'd ducked behind rocks and larger trees, one of which was ripped out of the ground as she leaned against it causing her run for her life. The creature was immediately on her tail she cast a few spells that did nothing more than slow it down. However, it was enough to allow her to stay out of its clutches. Suddenly it stopped at the beckoning of another one of the monsters and it changed direction. It was then that Hannah noticed she was on the edge of the castle clearing. She paused to catch her breath as she saw the monster, seemingly upset over the loss of it's prey swipe the castle.
As she watched, Hannah noticed someone standing below the debris. "RUN!!!!" she yelled at whomever it was. When they didn't she immediately took off to check on them. After all, that was her mission.
When she arrived, Hannah gasped. She knew it would be someone she knew, she just hadn't expected it to be Susan. "Susan," she said as if she were watching the scene from outside her body. She immediately took in that there was more rubble there than she could effectively move on her own. There wasn't time to panic and cry over what might be, she needed to get her friend out. "HELP, I NEED HELP OVER HERE!" she screamed repeatedly as her hands went to tossing away the rocks she could move. It would be no good to waste her voice on spells that would not be effective when she could use it to summon others to her side. Hannah hoped someone else would hear.
