Who: Susan and OPEN (maybe IC/OOC?)
What: Falling debris - 1, Susan - 0
Where: The castle
When: Nightfall, Day 4
Rating: Medium for thematic elements
It seemed so long ago that all Susan was worried about was the cold and starting to relax more around the people she'd been around but didn't know well. But then everything happened. The monsters. Fighting it away from Jasper and subsequently having to save him from himself. Her aunt Amelia's plea to send people to help fight off more of -- whatever these were.
Susan's ankle had been achy all day from when she'd sprained it, but as the day wore on and her spell wore off, she found it harder and harder to maneuver. There was barely enough time to breathe, let alone fix her ankle correctly. She wasn't willing to wait, though. People were helpless and needed protection, and she was one of the lucky few who wasn't infected and wasn't injured too badly, considering. And, she had to admit, a small part of her liked the rush of knowing she was competent at fighting them off.
With the help of the reinforcements that had come to help the original set of fighters at the castle, Susan could see a bit of an improvement; they weren't coming as fast, or as hard. Maybe it was because of that she was able to let her guard down for just a moment. But it was a moment too soon. She'd been standing right outside the castle, trying to fend them off. One particularly large creature had swiped the top of the castle with its hands (or what should have been its hands), and Susan hesitated for just a moment too long. She tried to move out of the way, but she felt it before she realised what was happening, and then everything went black.
(Susan has bad injuries to the right side of her head and face, as well as the problem of being pinned under a large amount of rubble, which crushed her internal organs among other things. Whoever finds her won't be able to see her legs under there and they are most likely broken. She's breathing shallowly. She will drift in and out of consciousness for about twelve hours more before the injuries become too much.)
