One thing was certain, Salazar had no intention of ever getting that drunk again. And if on the off chance he did, he was going to leave his journal behind. He didn't regret anything he said - he meant every word of it - but he wished he had conveyed his feelings more eloquently. He acted like a fool, and he was embarrassed.
Embarrassed and sick. George had been kind enough to find him in the forest and bring him back to the castle, but Salazar refused any potions that anyone had offered him. Despite knowing that they would make him feel better - and his love of potion making - he despised taking them. He had no idea why. The shower he took sometime in the afternoon had made him feel a little better, along with the toast he nibbled on, but he still felt like rubbish. However, when Megan said she wanted to see him when he was feeling better, he knew he wanted to see her now. So Salazar dragged himself out of his warm and comfortable bed and headed up to the entrance hall of the castle a few minutes after finishing talking with her on the journal. His serpent, Circe, was with him, wrapped loosely around his wrist. She hadn't wanted to leave his side all day.
Salazar sat on the stairs in the entrance hall as he waited, leaning against the railing with his eyes closed. It was far too bright in there, even for that time of day. He sat there perfectly still until he heard the door open, and even then they only part of him that moved was his mouth, to ask Circe who she thought was coming through the door.
"Girl," Circe replied, and Salazar opened one eye. He wanted to smile when he saw Megan, but his mouth barely twitched. As glad as he was to see her, he was simply feeling too lousy to muster up any enthusiasm.
Without a word, Salazar stood and walked over to her. He grabbed her by the hand and guided her through the castle to where his room was. Once they were inside, Salazar shut the door behind them. The dark curtains were drawn on the windows, and music played very quietly from the wireless a few feet away from his massive four-post bed. It was his older-self who had decorated this room, and it was clear that the older Salazar fancied decadence. The younger Salazar, however, only liked it because it was so comfortable.
