Draco's stuttered response to his hug had Alphard chuckling. He was not at all offended by Draco seeming a bit surprised and unsteady with the gesture. Alphard only hoped his nephew would grow used to being hugged by his Uncle, perhaps even grow to like it after a while. Alphard didn't know if he had it in him to stop. Laughing as his nephew pretended to sniff out any disasters that might have taken place, Alphard shook his head and waved his hands. "No. No. I promise. Don't worry. A friend of mine has informed me he'd teach me to cook, so perhaps I'll cut cooking disasters down in the near future." Alphard certainly hoped so. Cleaning up was tiring after a while and take out only tasted good every so often. Not every night.
"No. I'm not sure where they are." Presumably at the wireless or with friends. "I'm certain if you stick around long enough you could catch one of them, though I do not believe they'll be home anytime soon. You're always welcome to stay as long as you'd like though, Draco." Alphard very much enjoyed spending time with his family. Well, most of his family. Hearing the kettle let out a shrill whistle from the kitchen then, he smiled and nodded his head in that direction. "Shall we?" It was a rhetorical question though as as soon as the words had left his mouth, he was leading Draco through to the kitchen and bringing the kettle over to the tea which was already set with cups and saucers. A selection of tea, scones, and finger sandwiches were laid out on the table as well. Alphard could still do some things well. Apparently tea time was one of them.
