Adjusting to this place was an incredibly odd and difficult task to undertake. True, Megan hadn't even been here a week yet, but this village was so very different from home. It was impossible not to start making adjustments as soon as she'd arrived. What made it even worse was that as soon as she's arrived, her world was not only turned upside down, but dropped on its head as well. Leave it to her to turn up in the midst of a love potion prank followed up with a scenario all too familiar to her. Megan did everything she could to put the war and its devastation behind her, so it went without saying that last night had shook her up quite a bit. Megan was not a weak person. She did not go quietly into the night. She fought, tooth and nail, for the people she loved and the things she believed to be right. That didn't mean she wasn't left with nightmares and terrors in their wake though.
However today, today she had something to distract her from what had happened. She had Colin and the very thought of seeing him lifted that weight from her shoulders. The deaths that had come out after the final battle had nearly torn Megan apart. Losing Colin had nearly torn Megan apart. To have him here and whole, healthy and happy, Megan felt like she must have done something right to deserve it. To deserve having this and coming here. Because Colin was here and Jasper was here. If only her parents and brother would arrive, she was certain it would be a bit like Heaven. Yes, it had it's problems, but the people more than made up for it. Colin more than made up for it. Which was why Megan turned up shortly after noon with a bag full of sweets and a bright smile on her face as she knocked on the door before standing back to wait. Colin had seemed upset yesterday and she didn't want to leave it at that. She wanted to try to make it better. Sweets did that, right?
