Who: Lorcan D'Eath and OPEN
Where and When: Walking in the woods, late night.
Rating and Status: Low || Ongoing.
He didn't have any place in mind. He just decided to take a stroll to clear his mind. There was something peaceful about taking pleasure in the simple things in life. The feeling of the cool night air on his face and in his hair, and the light of the moon illuminating his path as he pressed on.
Lorcan knew he needed to get out more. He'd been spending too much time cooped up in his cabin. And while he relished having his mother there with him, he knew she likely wanted some time alone to get out and meet people. He had no idea for how long she would stay. Things were always in a constant state of flux here. He tried not to think about it too much as he headed off towards the woods taking a winding walking path and heading inside. But the worry she could leave at any time was ever present in his thoughts. And he had so much to ask her, to talk about. He made up his mind as he ducked under a low lying branch, to take her out for dinner this week. To talk, tell her about his own future. The bits that wouldn't upset her at least.
But that was not all that was on his mind. He had had a decent time out the other night at Kirley's party. Even if he had a lot of reservations at the start. It was strange, seeing Kirley so happy. He hadn't had the chance to really see that for long on the other side. Good at the start, and it all fell apart quickly. He had a lot of mixed feelings about it. Keeping his contact with Kirley to a minimum he figured had been the right idea. He was better off, clearly. And while he would always be there when he needed him, as insufferable as Kirley could be, it was the right decision. For whatever reason, in the grand scheme they did not mix well. But he was happy for him, truly. Everyone deserved happiness.
There was one thought at least which didn't crop up with confusion and raw emotion. Sirius came to mind, more often then not. And while he hadn't given a great deal of thought to their time together, he was happy with things as they were. Some things were best kept simple. Let whatever may come, come. Worry about the consequences later and enjoy the moment. He had always been this way. It just took Sirius' influence to remind him of that part of himself.
The woods were always so quiet. Aside from the occasional sound of small animals taking flight as he neared and the sound of his own footsteps crunching against the thin layer of snow on the ground, he heard nothing. That was until he heard another set of footsteps and halted his steps.
Lighting up a cigarette, he inhaled deeply and placed his free hand in his pocket. As the footsteps grew closer, he turned to see who else was roaming at this late hour.
