It's always have and never hold, you've begun to feel like home.
Who: Odin and the ravens, Heimdall, Sif, Thor
What: Awkwardly 'normal'? reunion.
Where: Odin's house.
When: Sunday night.
Warnings: No one parties like the vikings do.
They weren't exactly the conventional type of family. So really, no one could expect them to act, let alone function, like a 'normal family unit' - whatever that might be nowadays. But that didn't mean that they didn't do strange things every once in a while, like have dinner together in the father's house - a house that, no so long ago, he didn't exactly want to visit again given the circumstances. But the circumstances were different now, and as always, he found it difficult to say no to Sif and her spur-of-the-moment ingenious suggestions.
Their father got a call, and Heimdall got a call - she even asked him to call the ravens, but he knew better than to start any sort of conversation with them - and within a few nights he was carrying the bag of groceries following behind Sif into the unfamiliar home.
'We could've just gott'n takeout,' he said, propping his head on her shoulder as she prepared the meat and tried to hide that smile of hers while replying, very matter-of-factly, that this was a healthier and fun alternative. He slipped his arms around her waist and planted a kiss on her cheek, only to get into a bickering match with the old man about dirtying the kitchen in more ways than one.
"I swear he's driving me bonkers," he muttered, slicing the mushrooms while occasionally glancing up at the ravens, and when Sif wasn't looking he gave them his specialty kind of smile and waved at them with the knife in his hand, making them scuttle off somewhere else.
