Echo was feeling in her element, blissfully happy as she bustled about her kitchen preparing a snack for Pan. She had music from her new favorite television show playing on the computer, which she was singing along with as best as she could even if she was a beat behind, and while she wasn't sure where Narcissus was she was elated because having Pan here in need of care made her feel useful.
In a way she felt like this was good practice for being a mother, although her charge was most definitely able to take care of himself under normal circumstances his current condition was giving her an opportunity to baby him a little. She had told Pan to let her know if she was acting too bothersome or cloying, but so far he hadn't argued with her. Between making sure he was comfortable, helping him when he wanted to go to bed or go outside for a walk, and just generally checking on him she made sure he was staying alert and not suffering any ill effects of the head wound that he had suffered.
The first night he was there had been the hardest, since she stayed up to monitor his breathing, but they got through it. Now it was just a matter of keeping his bandages clean and entertaining him like and good host should. Pan had proven himself to be incredibly fun to be around, not to mention how adorable he could be, and even seemed to enjoy sometimes talking or singing to Bastian, something that Echo was both impressed and thrilled by. She could honestly see herself living like this in the long term, though she got the definite impression that Narcissus was not in the same boat.
Smiling brightly, she walked into the living room carrying a tray laden with snacks. There was cheese, crackers, and pepperoni, apples slices with peanut butter, and carrots with ranch dressing along with some lemonade. Putting the tray down, she gently reached out to feel Pan's forehead, making sure he didn't have a temperature before checking the bandage on his head. Everything looked good, so she sat down next to him, picked up one of the apple slices, and bit into it delicately as she glanced over at him as if urging him to eat something.
