Libby felt tired. With what happened at Fort Hood, she'd been running herself ragged, trying to minimize the damage that had been done. It wasn't easy. She'd even gone to D.C. to help there. Leaving New York and New Jersey was never easy for her. Her statue's image was almost everywhere, but both cities where her home, and leaving them just felt...off.
But she'd put that out of her mind this eve. She'd promised to thank Military, and she would. She felt bad, for letting him fight for her, without a proper thanks. And seeing she doubted he got to eat many home cooked meals she'd been all to happy to cook. It was only a minor thing, a small thanks but with Veterans Day having come and gone she had to do something. It didn't feel right to just let his soldiers die, in her name no less, without doing something in return.
Humming she set the dinner plates down and moved to the kitchen. Everything was ready and being kept warm, so all she had to do was wait. At least her apartment smelled nice, the scent of an old fashioned home cooked meal creeping in every corner. As she poured herself a glass of wine, she realized she didn't really know Military's mortal name. She went by Libby because, well it was just easier then being called Lady Liberty all the time. But, she figured she could ask tonight. It would be better then calling him 'Military' all the time.
