Well nothing hurts and nothing bleeds when covers tucked in tight
Who: Morpheus (chain_of_dreams) & Phobos (fearandpanic)
What: Phobos has something he wants to show Morpheus.
Where: A dream.
When: Friday
Warnings: Language; tba.
There was a time when the prospect of sleeping and dreaming didn't fill him with a sense of dread and weariness. It was a long time ago but he remembered it clearly. He used to enjoy dreaming as much as he enjoyed living. These days, however, neither brought him much joy.
Tonight was different, though. Tonight, he had something to look forward to. Tonight, he wouldn't have to run and struggle; wouldn't have to fight off unwanted images of things that were and would never be. Tonight, he could ignore it all, because tonight there would be someone else. Someone who wasn't a figment of his mind. Someone real.
Sunlight broke through the treetops, casting a soft light on the clearing. Closing his eyes, Phobos lifted his face towards the sky, folding an arm behind his head and pulled lightly at the thick fur of the creature that served him as a pillow.
It was a gift for Morpheus. It was not as substantial as the swirly sparklies ball but the light twin was sure the ruler of dreams would like it just as much.
The blue tiger purred deeply at the back of its throat, resting its head on the tied up body under its paws to stop the struggling.
"Lie still and play nice," Phobos said to the beaten up bundle that wore his face. "For just one night. Tomorrow, we can go back to chasing, yelling and beating the crap out of each other and if you're a good boy I might even let you win."
"Let me? Let me? I've been letting you get away because you're not worth killing, you pathetic little fucker! And if dad knew what a sorry piece of shit you've turned into-!"
"Shut up, asshole! Just keep in mind that you live in my head. I'm the one who gets out of bed every morning and deals with all the crap and I'm the one who can end us both in a heartbeat." They both fell silent again and waited for Morpheus' arrival.
