Control is everything.
Who: Nuclear Power ([info]brighter_tmrw) & National Security ([info]absolutecontrol)
What: The Antichrist sucks! Calm down! YOU CALM DOWN! OW!
Where: Jamie's flat.
When: Monday, late afternoon/early evening
Warnings: Language

By the time Enola called to tell Jamie she was dropping by, the wall separating the kitchen from the former dining-room was gone, too. His home had become very spacious. Very, very spacious, and he wasn't sure he liked it that way. It felt so open and... unprotected.

At least, he'd cleared out the remains of the wall and managed to tidy everything up. Yes. At least it was clean.

There was a half-empty bottle of vodka on the coffee table and he was lying stretched out on his new pale green couch. He was sure he'd picked a darker shade but couldn't bring himself to care much at the moment.

Frakking Antichrist had the audacity to show up at National Security's home! Whoever gave that bastard the address would never have a single happy moment in their life ever again.

There was a constant tickle in the back of Enola’s mind. The never fading presence of that stupid button she was always waiting for someone to push. Usually she could ignore it. Moments like these made that nigh impossible.

“No but it’s awfully easy right now, don’t you think?” She took another pull from the bottle before setting it back down. This was a good thing. As she would have most assuredly broken it at after Jamie’s next words.

“He what? Neutral?! Was this before or after his ‘I just want a friend’ speech?”

"Before, no, after... What does it matter?" Jamie almost snapped. Getting up, he snatched the near empty bottle off the table and went into the kitchen area to get another one and some ice.

"After! He gave a speech, I gave a speech and what do you know? He throws the claim of neutrality at me and walks away as if he was the offended party!" Having Enola come over didn't seem like such a good idea anymore. Her anger was slamming into him, bonded with his and bounced right back at her.

At this rate...

Calm down. Calm down! It's over, you're done. There's no reason for still being this worked up. No reason at all.

Not good. Not good at all. They were playing off one another. Giving fuel to a fire that didn’t need to be fed. She shouldn’t have come. No, the Antichrist should have stayed the fuck away.

Circles, they were going in circles and no, no, this would not do. Enola’s thoughts were racing, her fists were clenched and she could feel her nails digging into her palms. The frustration was near paralyzing. Stop it. This was not worth it.

“No, you’re right. It doesn’t matter. He doesn’t matter. What’s done is done.” She stood up only to sit back down again. The sudden (and forced) shift had left her dizzy. If Jamie threw something at her head right now she wouldn’t blame him. Somehow it only seemed fair.

((Craaaaaaazy XD))

That part about dumping the booze to chew on the bottle made me go ROFL*ded*

Calming down was a lot easier said than done. Enola wasn't doing a better job than he was and there weren't any walls left that could be knocked down without bringing down the apartment...

Jamie uncapped a new bottle of vodka, retrieved two tall glasses, dropped a handful of ice cubes in each and filled them to the rim with booze. He carried them over to his friend and hesitated.

"You're not going to take a bite out of the glass, are you?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned for his property. "I have plastic cups somewhere..."

She laughed at that. Couldn't help it really. This whole situation had gotten on her last nerve and the utter ridiculousness of the question helped put things in perspective.

"Depends on how long you can keep it full." She said reaching for the glass, a slight tremble in her hand. Calm was certainly a ways off but alcohol was a start in the right direction. "No, Jamie. I won't ruin your glassware with my teeth. Now sit down and have a drink with me."

"Glad you think it's funny." Jamie snorted softly, holding on to the glass briefly for no apparent reason at all.

"You know," he said, slumping down on his strange grasshopper coloured couch, "none of this would have happened if you'd stuck to your male form. But no! Nuclear Power just had to be a girl. Not only that, she had to be a pretty, cute girl! Couldn't have gone with butch lesbian or ugly old hag, could you?"

National Security took a large gulp and rolled his eyes. "Frak those suffragettes."

She stuck out her tongue taking the glass and draining half of it in one go. Enola wasn’t a heavy drinker by any means but this occasion seemed to call for it. Coughing, she wiped tears from her eyes.

“Oh no, I’m NEVER doing that again. That was a terrible year. Three Mile Island and that near fist fight we nearly got into – no thanks.” Nuclear Power’s decision to take female form had been influenced by Athena. Wisdom was a woman – which is why Enola liked to think of her year as a man as a fit of temporary insanity.

She elbowed Jamie in the side for the suffragette comment. “You think I’m pretty?” For one reason or another this was surprising to her.

It was a good thing that the Greek goddess had found Nuclear Power before any of the new gods had realised she was around. Probably.

And it was also a good thing that it had chosen to be a 'she', adapting most traits characteristic of a 'she'. Probably.

The elbow in his ribs made Jamie tense up briefly. His irritation was still too close to the surface and it made him twitchy. The heat radiating from Enola wasn't doing him any good, either.

Calm down. Relax.

"Sure. Don't you?" Taking another large gulp, he turned his head and looked at her, wondering why she sounded so surprised. She had those almost ridiculously big doe eyes, a straight pretty nose, a radiant smile and adorable dimples. Surely she knew what effect she had on other people? And now she was staring at him with that funny look she always had on her face when she was confused.

Without thinking Jamie reached out, cupped the back of Enola's neck and pulled her in for a kiss.

Yeah, definitely a good thing she wasn't that guy anymore.

((Ta-daa! XD))

Well. That was unexpected. Pretty or not physical contact was not something Enola had ever gotten used to. People often kept their distance and while it didn't exactly bother her it made a moment like this a tad startling.

She recovered quickly enough. Leaning in instead of pulling back. Except there was something distracting her...

Oh right. The stupid glass in her hand. That was enough for her to break away with a small sigh. Enola set the cup on the coffee table, reaching over she plucked Jamie's glass from his hand and set that down too.

There. All better.

Straddling Jamie's lap, resting her hands on his shoulders Enola looked ready to say something. Screw that. No more talking.
No more thinking.

She kissed him again and there was certainly no turning back now.

((Thank you XD. Got BSG in the mail today! *glee* I'm already in love with Starbuck. Also I stared at your icon for ten minutes before I was able to do anything >_<))
