Jesus Christ on a cracker. What's transfiguration? I was only ever keen on history where more recent events were concerned.

It is my last name, because if I give my first name, people start calling me by it, and [ ... ] ugh. I prefer to go by Fawkes.

It's turning one thing into another thing. Turning a teapot into a stove or a leopard into a harmless house cat. That sort of thing. Not that this makes any of this any less weird for you. Oh lord, most of what we covered were wars, wars, and more wars that happened hundreds and hundreds of years ago, and everyone is already dead. Their great great grandkids are already dead. You think they'd spice things up sometime and cover an event that wasn't a war, maybe some important invention or discovery of some natural law. But no. Plus the teacher was.... have you ever met someone who could only speak in one tone?

Fawkes it is.

Nope, definitely still weird. Pumpkins into stagecoaches is transfiguration, though, good to know. I have a few of those teachers when I was younger, but none so bad as the old bint at Hogwarts Academy- that's where I did a lot of my studying that readied me for military intelligence. It's sort of a big deal back home.

Cheers.
