WHO: Arion and Adele
WHEN: BACKDATED - Saturday morning
WHERE: Ski Lodge
WHAT: She's baaaaaaack
WARNINGS: TBD

Not being forced into a family he didn't know nor want anymore was perfectly fine with Arion. He did prefer the island to the mountains, since he didn't know how to ski or snowboard, but Mo seemed right at home in the snow when they'd walked down to the lodge the night before, so Arion was looking forward to watching him have a good time.

When he'd gotten settled in his room at the lodge, he checked his journal and frowned. People were coming back. Most of the people that had disappeared back when they went to the island world were back... but no Adele. He didn't want to get his hopes up, but as he kept flipping through pages and not seeing her handwriting, his heart sunk. He'd wanted her back. Yes, he'd done reasonably fine without her for the past month, and he was getting better, but he would always want her back.

It was a restless night's sleep, and when he woke the next morning, he didn't really want to go out and do anything, but Mo insisted, nudging and licking him until he got out of bed and put his winter clothes on. He took the pup outside for a bit and let him do his business, then called him back in for breakfast. It was a good, hearty breakfast, and Arion slipped Mo bits of bacon and sausage while he ate.

He didn't really feel like getting out on the slopes, so with his second cup of coffee in hand, Arion led Mo outside and released him into the snow while he sat with his cup on the deck, putting his feet up on a nearby coffee table.

Adele's return lagged a little behind that of some of the others, possibly, she thought, just to torture her. With the Sight, she was more sensitive to these kinds of things, and it had been getting really annoying. She was returned in the night, so that when she woke up in her bed and the shoe she was sure she put away was actually put away, she perked up immediately. A cursory inspection of her surroundings confirmed that yes, she was out of that damned loop.

After flipping through her journal, she knew that the first thing she needed to do was find Theodore and Arion and let them know she was back. After a moment's thought, she decided Arion probably needed her more than Theodore, so she put on a jumper and boots and went to seek him out.

She came to the door of the deck and spotted him, then froze in place. What now? Her disappearance would undoubtedly have been his worst fear come true. How would he react to finding out it was all nothing? More importantly, what the hell was she supposed to say about it? She opened and closed her mouth a few times, trying to think of something.

The coffee was good, and did a nice job of warming Arion up, so when he was finished with his cup, he decided to go in for another. He was determined to stay as warm as possible while they were here.

Giving a whistle to bring Mo back to the deck, Arion stood and turned... then promptly dropped his mug, not even wincing at the sound it made as it shattered all over the cold deck.

"Adele," he muttered, his eyes wide at the sight of her standing there. He hadn't expected it. He didn't know she was back, when did she get back? And how long had she been standing there?

Moving all at once, Arion crossed the distance between them and wrapped her up in a bear hug. "I thought you were never coming back," he said into her hair. "When you didn't come back with the others... Merlin it was like ten years ago all over again." At least he'd sort of handled it better this time.
