Who: Regina Blackswap and OPEN
When: Wednesday morning
Where: "Diagon Alley"
What: Reg had a bad night, and is still moping.
Warnings: TBD

Reg was moving slowly. She hadn't expected this reaction. It wasn't as if she and Duke had discussed what was going on outside of their little "relationship," but still, seeing him propositioning some man in the journals right in front of everyone had hit her hard. Being an eighteen year old girl, who had never slept with anyone outside of a solidified, monogamous relationship, Reg was finding that her first foray into the world of casual sex was not something she was enjoying, and she didn't want to do it anymore.

She hadn't originally intended to tell her sister. She had told the one Sirius not to tell, but she couldn't help herself. Sirilla was her sister, and at that moment, all Reg wanted was her big sister. She knew she'd stayed until she fell asleep, which had taken a long time, but she was gone when she woke up. So Reg got dressed and went to breakfast with Madeline, feeding the little monkey pieces of fruit while she picked at a bowl of porridge, never really taking a full bite.

After breakfast, she knew she had things that had to be done. For all of her complaining, she wasn't going to get out of participating in this new world, but she wasn't going to act like she was happy about it. So grabbing a small bag of grapes for a snack for Madeline, she set out to the representation of Diagon Alley to purchase her supplies.

It was just as she remembered it the last time she'd been to the Alley. All the same shops, the same shop keepers, everything. With a sigh, she handed Madeline, who was sitting on her shoudler, a grape to munch on and started towards the bookshop.

Pulling her list from her pocket, Reg looked over the titles and pointed to a section of the shop to start at. "Boy things," she said, not really wanting to say much more than that, but knowing she probably wasn't going to get away with just that.

So she sighed and leaned against a bookshelf. "There was a guy, and we were drunk and slept together in Greece, at the toga party. Well after the whole mess with our ages, we slept together again, in one of the tree houses. So I thought everything was fine, then last night he made a public booty call over the journals to some bloke I haven't met yet. And I just... it's not going well, I'll say."

Marie couldn't help but to smile over 'boy things'. It was Marie's profession to handle whoever wanted her services. "Ah." Marie put back down the book and glanced over at Reg who had leaned against the bookshelf. Obviously, feelings had gotten involved and from what Marie could tell, the girl was not only confused, but possibly upset.

"You're hurt that he slept with someone else and not you? Or are you upset that he slept with a man?"

After a couple clicks of her tongue, Marie thought it would be fair to spill a little of her experience to the young girl. Reg had been fairly open up till this point, it was only fair.

"I've had my fair share of one night stands." Which was beyond an understatement, but not necessarily a lie. "Sex is all fun and games until feelings get involved. Sometimes, for women, it is hard to separate the heart from the vagina. Sex is intimate and...well...depending upon the situation...like it seems like in yours...perhaps neither of you were on the same page."

"Do you like him? Or..did you like the sex?"

"More that it was someone else," Reg said, handing Madeline another grape when she started tugging on her hair. "I mean, we hadn't talked about being exclusive or anything like that. But I think what really gets me is that it was just out there. No warding, nothing like that. Out in public for everyone to read."

She frowned then, and closed her eyes. She hadn't done much actual talking about the situation with her sister, so talking about it was making her all emotional again. "The sex was really good," she said, opening her eyes. "And when we talked, it was good too. He's charming, funny, interesting, all the good things. But I wasn't quite sure how I felt about him. Now... well I guess I was starting to like him."

With another nod, Marie leaned against the same dusty bookshelf next to Reg. "Which...to those that you have possibly told about your rendezvous with this mystery man...might have made you look like a fool? I can easily see why you could feel that way." It was that little give away that Marie instantly knew who they were talking about.

"At least...the supposed gentleman is going behind your back about anything...which tells you he doesn't have much to hide. But if this is the same man who boasted sex being his type of competition, it tells you a great deal about him in general."

Marie shifted a bit and moved a piece of hair out of Reg's face. "It wasn't very smart to sleep with him without first knowing how you felt. The first time I can understand, the second..not so much. If casual sex isn't right for you and you don't feel comfortable with it, then there should be no reason why you can't tell him that yourself. In my experience, men like him are hard to change. Its not that they are bad or are incapable of loving or liking, but it is what they are used to and it comes easy as they do."

"As far as I know, only my sister and brothers knew about it. One of them saw and told the rest, of course, but I hadn't told anyone else."

Reg shook her head and rubbed at her eyes then. "It's my fault, really," she said. "I'd never done anything like this outside of a relationship before. And it's been months since I'd last been with anyone, and the first time we were drunk and it was good, but then we were turned little and had no idea who the other was. So when we changed back, I just had this urge, no idea why, so I sent him a ward. I thought that I was going to be okay with all of this, but I'm just not."

"Well..." Marie thought for a moment, knowing she was shit at relationship advice seeing as she only had one her entire life. "Perhaps you should talk to the mystery fella. It really wasn't your fault, it was just unexpected and something he should understand...if he is the gentleman you say he is."

Marie gave a shrug. "Don't be so hard on yourself. You tried something new and it wasn't working for you." She gave a reassuring smile and picked a book above Reg's head. "Either way, you had fun and you learned."

Reg nodded and passed Madeline another grape. "We're running low on grapes, love," she told the small monkey. "You'll have to be patient."

Turning her attention back to Marie, she gave her the smallest of smiles, the first she'd managed since the night before. "I just wish learning didn't hurt so much."

She grabbed a book off the shelf then. "I'm Reg, by the way," she said. "Well, Regina, actually. But you can call me Reg."

"I think that's the best lesson of all, when you can feel the pain. It never let's you forget so you're always a little more cautious the next time."

And then came the introductions. It made Marie smile a little more as she nodded in Reg's direction. "I'm Marie. And thank you...for opening up to me so easily. Its not always easy talking to a stranger."

"It was easier than talking to my sister or brothers," Reg said. "Though, since they're all technically the same person, talking to one is just like telling all the rest."

Then Madeline tugged at her hair and made a chirping noise, asking for another grape. Reg rolled her eyes. "And this is Madeline," she said, handing a grape over to the monkey. "She was one of my gifts back in Christmas world. I'm in Zeta block."

"Sometimes it can be. I don't know you at all and even if I did...I wouldn't hold anything against you. Its all a part of life and everyone learns from their lessons differently." Marie couldn't help but to raise her eyebrows at the name of her monkey. Part of her wanted to laugh, the other...did exactly what she did. Marie stayed quiet for a brief moment.

She hated the name, but for reasons she wouldn't share. "That's a lovely name and such a lovely pet. I'm in Tau block."

She sighed and shook her head. "Life needs to take a break from teaching me lessons, honestly."

Reg nodded. "She's a sweetheart," she said. "But sometimes it's hard to get her to sleep. I guess this is sort of what it's like to have a real baby."

Moving away from the bookshelf, Reg went across the aisle to reach for another book on the list. "So why did you drop out of school the first time around?"
