Who: SiriusUnwind and RemusUnwind
What: Meeting up
When: Backdated: Aug. 11, evening.
Where: Remus' room
Warnings: None?

He was scarcely keeping himself from pacing. It was difficult to keep still the moment that he had found that Sirius was also here. He didn't think he'd ever been so relieved -- there were moments that were quite close in scope, though. The instant that Sirius had shown up with the bike, deciding that they were leaving; when they had finally arrived at Dumbledore's camp. Sirius' 21st birthday.

Some part of him had known that Sirius had to have been safe even when he'd arrived. Even if this was a camp, Sirius was past unwind age. He was safe now. They couldn't hurt him in that way anymore. But there were other ways that he could hurt, and it had scared him to not know where Sirius was, and to not know if he was in a harvest camp or not. He had heard plenty of stories about the sort of things that the camps did, the false atmosphere of calm that they tried to emit, just in order to keep the unwinds from completely losing it.

And he wasn't entirely sure that he understood what this place was. Harvest camp or not, it was strange. But there was time to figure out. However, he needed to see Sirius first. He couldn't help but tap his fingers anxiously on the journal as he waited for him to show up. He couldn't even imagine what he would look like at 36. But that didn't matter.

He wasn't surprised in the slightest when Sirius decided to skip over a rudimentary thing like knocking on the door. He got quickly to his feet when Sirius walked in. He faltered, just for a moment, admittedly. He just needed to look at Sirius, because he did look quite different than when Remus had last seen him. But so much of him was still Sirius. Remus would have still known he was him instantly.

"Pads," Remus managed to get out, his voice a little hoarse. Then, he quickly closed the distance between the two of them, wrapping his arms around Sirius, burying his face against his shoulder. It was so good that he was here. He didn't know what he would have done if he had arrived to discover that Sirius was missing. He was still unsure of this place. Part of him was afraid that the rug was going to be pulled out from underneath them at any moment.

So many jokes passed through Sirius' mind, all various ways of poking fun at Remus' age, or both of them, the entire situation really. But that voice made him shut his lips before they were even open. Remus had always been his soft spot, and still was even now after all the years (to him). It actually took more effort to keep himself from appearing too sad or worried.

Rather, Sirius' arms quickly encircled the other and pulled him close. His head lowered enough for his cheek to rest against the side of Remus' head as another grin twitched his lips. "Moony," he cooed, "it's okay." Sirius gave a squeeze with his arms but made no move to let go despite his comforting words. He would have flipped out if he'd finally understood this place and realized Moony wasn't with him - but as it stood, even with the time difference, he thought it was pretty cool.

Remus didn't move for a bit, overwhelmed as he was -- and yet so relieved that Sirius was here. It had been horrifying waking up in a strange place, and it had been even more horrifying when so many people had answered him, behaving as if nothing was wrong and babbling on about things Remus didn't understand.

This was easier because it was more familiar. Sirius even smelled the same.

He pulled back only after awhile to look up into Sirius' face. He couldn't help but grin a little, because Sirius was just as good looking as he had always been, and he had to know it. But Remus just couldn't resist, because he knew that Padfoot would do the same to him. This was their normal.

"You are old, aren't you," he said wryly.

Sirius could only imagine what it was like for Remus. There was so much that he didn't know, hadn't lived through, and Sirius wasn't even sure where they stood on most things at that time. Harry was only a baby then - gods, it was hard to think in those terms. And then being so much younger than himself. If Remus had been the one 16 years older, well, Sirius didn't even know what he'd do. Nothing like that would change them much, though.

His hold only loosened when Remus pulled back, the grin infecting his own lips. But then he was scoffing, acting insulted.

"Old? I'm not old!" He pushed his lips together and shook his head before smirking. "Not my fault you're practically jailbait. Am I going to get in trouble for just being in the same room as you?" To emphasize the humor, he looked around as if someone was going to jump out at any second and grab him.

Remus couldn't help but quietly smile when Sirius teased him in return. It was a relief to know that their lives still seemed happy whenever Sirius was from. They weren't exactly easy, but then Remus had never expected an easy life. But he could take any challenge if he thought that it could bring them happiness. He wondered what he would have been like if Sirius Black hadn't walked into his life.

He leaned in when Sirius turned to glance around the room and brushed a kiss across his lips, as if to challenge the very notion that Sirius was speaking of.

"Perhaps," he settled for saying aloud.

Distracted by the kiss, Sirius turned back completely with a smile at the edges of his mouth. At least it seemed that Remus was okay with it all, even if he didn't know this Sirius. The one who'd been with him for years.

"Well let's hope not," he countered, placing both of his hands on either side of Remus' face. He took some time just to study the younger lines, but even the sadness on his own face wasn't entirely discontented. As long as Moony accepted their differences, he would never find a problem with it. Leaning in, he pressed a firmer kiss on the other man's mouth, holding it for several seconds. Then he merely rested their foreheads together.

"You're not bothered by it?"

Remus looked up at Sirius when Sirius began to study him. He quietly wondered what differences Sirius saw between him and the version of him that he knew in the future. Probably more grey hair, and more scars. But Remus didn't inquire for the time being, because he didn't think that was something he really wanted to know.

"We'll manage," Remus said easily, a small smile cresting on his face again. It wasn't to say that he could ignore it -- because he certainly couldn't. There was a substantial age difference between them and Remus wasn't foolish enough to think that it wasn't going to have some kind of impact on their relationship. But in the end, Sirius was his, and Remus would make it work so that they could be together.
