Who: Victorienswap and MiniBDH
What: Vino and Cuddles
When: Friday
Where: Mini's little villa in Ancient Greece
Warnings: French. Cuddles. Wine.

Mini hurt. Not only were her legs aching from gripping the horse below her, but a myriad of bruises dotted her porcelain skin from where she had taken a tumble during practice and her fingers ached from clutching the reigns of the horse she was trying to lead. Looking back, she couldn’t figure out why she had chosen to ride an animal whose behind was at eye-level and flew like the wind. Being on top of the chestnut mare was like riding on a broom, something Mini was not fond of, and there weren’t any of her favourite lemon sours here to comfort her.

All of these physical discomforts were water under the bridge to the hurting she was feeling inside. The initial pain of being traded had subsided, leaving behind a bit of – well - nothing that left with the familiar feeling of losing her sparkle. Her confidence was shaken and she felt alone again despite the comforting words from her family. They said that knew she was better than this, that she deserved more, but the feeling of security that she had felt when she was reunited with her family here had left when her room in Epsilon became locked to her. Things were back to being decided for her at the expense of her own feelings.

It had taken her a bit of time to reach out to one person who she felt knew what she was going through. While she loved her sister, Victoire had always had Teddy. It was the two of them for as long as Mini could remember, and even when they weren’t lovers they were connected. V, however, knew what it felt like to lose the person you wanted.

Buoyed by his words, Mini had gone out and procured a few bottles of wine for them to share. She was currently staring at them, wondering how strong the Greeks made their wine and if it was the modern day’s equivalent of ice cream. Hopefully, even now, he was still up for wine and cuddles with his sister.

V was oh so very up for wine and cuddles. He'd had them frequently with Theo since arriving here, since things kept blowing up in one or both of their faces, but with the state of things between them, that also caused a little bit of a problem for him. Not a huge problem, because the time away had done him good, cleared his head; he was capable of being around her without it hurting. But he also wanted-- or more accurately, felt that he needed-- to move on. The fact that their alternate selves were married wasn't helpful, nor was the fact that he'd seen that video of him and Theo from their supposed future back home, the one with the wedding rings. Neither had the letters they'd read together, even though they'd mocked them; she had been genuine and heartfelt in those letters, admitting that she missed him.

But being told that they were destined to be married, that she might really still have feelings for him, didn't help. Those pieces of information were being dangled in front of him by the scientists, not offered by Theo of her own free will, and that made them worth much less. Yes, he admitted it was possible that they were real; the letters at least were definitely real, otherwise Theo would have mentioned the forgery. But she hadn't sent them, hadn't intended for him to read them. The video wasn't in their future unless they intended it to be, and he still had quite a few doubts about that.

But he was alright. He wasn't pining, he wasn't hurting, not really. He just wasn't entirely over her, either. And he remembered what it had felt like at first, which was the state in which his sister-brother (or was it brother-sister?) found herself now. He was more than willing to be there for her, and he was hopeful that it would help him get over the last of his own hurdles in the recovery process, too.

He knocked on her door, then tried the handle, finding it unlocked. He stepped inside, and smiled when he saw Mini, who really did look like a very feminine version of his brother -- hilarious and comforting to see, all at once. "Bonjour, Mini," he greeted her, closing the door behind him, and moved towards her, holding out his arms. "Got a hug for your big brother?"

Mini knew she was stretching her allotted time to wallow. Weasley women were supposed to be strong, her Aunt Ginny had said, but even now Mini wasn't sure that she would ever be as strong as other women in her family. Her gran had killed a witch to protect her daughter, her mother had taken Polyjuice Potion to confuse Death Eaters when they moved her Uncle Harry to safety during the second war, and her sister had helped Teddy take down the bad guys. No, no woman as brave as them would have fallen for someone who conducted experiments on other human beings like a puppet master and his dolls.

She reached up and rubbed at her face when she heard the doorknob rattle, her hands automatically reaching up to pinch and rub color into her milky skin. Even if it was just her brother walking through the door, Dominique Weasley didn't want to appear looking like a mess. "Salut, V," she returned, a small smile flitting across her lips as she took in the man coming towards her. "I always have hugs for Vics."

She could see flashes of her sister in him, instantly putting her at ease as she surveyed his large frame. She pushed back from the table and, in a whirl of blond hair and homespun fabric, flew into his open arms. She quickly wrapped her arms around his waist and held on, comforted by the way his large frame seemed to swallow her up. "Merci for coming," she addressed his broad chest before leaning back to look up and up at him. She tilted her head to the side as she peered up at him, a slightly puzzled look on her face. "Are you a height-stealer too where you come from?"

V bent to wrap his arms around her properly, resting his head on top of hers before she pulled back to look at him. "Of course," he said, grinning. "I wouldn't dream of letting my little sister down."

It was weird, no doubt about it, to be absolutely sure that this was his brother and yet to be sure that she was very female at the same time. Almost but not quite as weird as the most mind-boggling person he'd met since being here, the half-sibling he shared with Theo. He'd gotten over that one, though, and at least he was already used to the idea of having a little sister, even if this wasn't [Louis].

He laughed, and nodded. "I am, yeah," he said. "Is Victoire tall, too?" That wasn't surprising, but he'd yet to see it for himself. "It makes me an extra-good cuddler, though, so that's something, right?"

"Every girl needs her brother at times." The corner of Mini's mouth lifted in a small smile as she leaned back in, burrowing against his chest. He was right; the extra height made him perfect for sliding up against. The long, muscular lines were recognizable, comforting in their familiarity. She had missed physical contact; it wasn't often that she had so much time to spend by herself. Hands were normally held, legs frequently tended to drape casually over the other person's, and cheeks were always kissed in greeting. Feeling a pair of strong arms around her - even if they weren't those of her father's or Louis' – was like a soothing balm over her frayed spirits.

"Oui. I take after Papa's side. Short, chubby, loud," she explained, gesturing to the curves that her toga couldn't hide. A million questions flooded into her mind, but her maman’s voice suddenly sounded in her ear, admonishing her for being a bad hostess. She sheepishly glanced at the assortment of carafes on her window and moved towards the thick, black vessels she had found in her villa that could only be described as early wine goblets. “I wasn’t sure what kind of wine they had here or which you like, but you’re one of us so you have to like wine, so… I managed to find a bit of everything.”
