Harry & Greg
Who: Harry and Greg
What: Intimidation
Where: Greg's flat
When: Thursday evening, 10/9
Rating: Mostly sfw? Naught thought? I don't know.

Harry was just thinking about going home when a shadow fell across his desk. He looked up, and immediately groaned at the look on Savage's face. "No. Whatever it is, no." He was still smarting a bit from yesterday, though Ernie had done a wonderful job at patching him up, and he'd done nothing more strenuous today than a second interview with Waddlesworth. Which, granted, had given him a headache but at least there were no new bruises.

Savage just looked at him until Harry groaned and resisted the urge to bash his head against his desk. "All right, fine. What've we got?"

"A suspected Death Eater hangout. It seems a Mrs. McHavelock witnessed some known Death Eater associates congregating in a 'suspicious' manner last weekend, and has witnessed them coming and going quite regularly since her new tenant moved in." Savage smirked through the briefing, and Harry was reminded how much she scared him. Always. "I need you to go check it out."

Harry sighed. They got at least twelve of these calls every quarter, and none of them actually lead to the capture of Death Eaters, past or present. It was usually someone's overactive imagination, but the department had to take them all seriously. "All right. Address?"

A few minutes later Harry Apparated to Monument Alley, and walked up the steps to the so-called Death Eater hangout. Despite his belief that this was a false call, Harry had his wand handy and didn't announce himself as he knocked on the door.

Greg was not having a good week. His Wednesday evening plans with Millicent had been derailed when George had tricked him into accepting a Ton-Tongue Toffee. He'd been too stubborn to ask for help and had spent a good hour sulking in his flat waiting for the swelling to go down before deciding he needed a drink after all. He'd had more than one, actually, and had turned up to work Thursday with a splitting headache.

The day had got worse from there. Too many parents with screaming babies, or else older children who asked too many questions about the products. George had stepped out for five minutes at the end of the day to talk to a supplier and Greg had been stuck with the kid who thought eating a Puking Pastille was absolutely hilarious. Repeated cleaning charms had got the vomit off him but Greg hadn't felt clean.

He'd been in the shower over twenty minutes when he heard a knock at his door. He grunted as he scrubbed shampoo out of his hair - Mrs McHavelock could at least wait until he was clean before ranting at him. Finally, he wrapped one of the towels Pansy had bought him around his hips and moved to the door - pulling it open with a scowl.

"Potter." Great. The only thing that could possible make his day worse.

Harry blinked, his voice failing him at the sight of Gregory Goyle in nothing but a towel. His eyes traitorously trailed a bead of water from Goyle's neck to his stomach to the top of the towel before Harry managed to drag his eyes away. Not for the first time he thought that it was a crime that someone like Gregory Goyle had turned out to be so bloody gorgeous.

"Goyle." Harry tried to find a safe place to look, and kept his eyes trained on Goyle's face. It wasn't ideal, but it was better than staring open-mouthed at the chiseled chest. Fuck, he'd looked again, hadn't he? He needed to get laid, and soon, so the male form stopped being so interesting to him. Maybe Roger would have a suggestion.

Dragging his brain back to the present, Harry reminded himself he was an Auror and here on Official Business. "There's been a complaint of suspicious activity out of your flat. I'm going to need to come in and conduct a formal interview." He paused. "You, er, might want to put some pants on."

While Potter stared at him, Greg stared back, eyes narrowed. What was Potter doing turning up at his flat? How did he even know where his flat was? As far as Greg knew, since he wasn't a convicted Death Eater and had already worked off his community service the Ministry had no right to keep track of where he lived like this. Greg briefly wondered whether he should ask Draco, but Potter was talking again before the thought really had a chance to catch hold.

"Suspicious activity?" His frown turned into a glare. He hadn't done anything wrong, he was sure of that, and the only people who'd been in his flat were people he or Pansy had invited. Pansy wouldn't invite anyone who'd be so careless as to perform Dark Magic and Greg had only invited his family, Pansy, Draco and Marcus. "You want to come in now?" Greg stood his ground in the doorway. He didn't even have his wand with him, but he wasn't going to let Potter in just because he said so. He'd almost rather go to the Ministry than have Potter in his flat. He shook his head, water dripping down the back of his neck from his hair. "No. We can go somewhere else."

Harry was less affected by Greg's glare than his continued near-nakedness. It was far safer to focus on the glare, and he gave his own stern look back. "It would be quicker to do this here, Goyle. It's routine, at this point." He just wanted to get this over with, and he didn't need Goyle being difficult about things.

"Look, go put some clothes on and I'll wait here. We can do the interview in the hall; I don't have to come in unless there's traces of Dark Magic." Despite his dislike of Gregory Goyle, he didn't think this suspicious activity call would amount to anything. Even Goyle wasn't that stupid. "Or we can go down to the Ministry where this might take hours instead of twenty minutes. Your choice, Goyle."

Greg took his time thinking over what - to most - would seem an easy decision. He definitely didn't want Potter in his flat, so that left two options. Greg wasn't stupid enough to miss that standing on his landing would risk having Mrs McHavelock come up and find him being interviewed. On the other hand, twenty minutes did sound a lot better than hours.

After a long few minutes, Greg huffed. "Fine." He closed the door in Potter's face without waiting for a reply. For once, he'd come home in his magenta robes, but there was no way he was putting those back on. Actually, it seemed stupid to put any robes back on. He'd only have to clean them, and it wasn't as if he was planning to leave the flat again tonight. Knowing he hadn't done anything wrong, he was confident Potter couldn't make him leave.

So, after a quick drying charm, Greg changed into black pyjama bottoms and a green sleeveless top. He didn't like to be too hot at night, and his duvet cover was more than thick enough to mean he didn't need more fabric on his body that was strictly necessary. Potter was, unfortunately, still outside when Greg opened the door. He stepped out into the hall to join him, closing and warding the door to his flat behind him. He wasn't taking any chances.

Harry rolled his eyes as Goyle slammed the door in his face, but took the time to cast a few detection charms. It wasn't quite regulation, but as he didn't think he'd find anything it didn't bother him. As expected, the charms didn't detect any traces of Dark magic, or even anything slightly illegal. Harry was half disappointed, but he didn't actually want to drag Goyle in for formal questions as that would involve far too much paperwork.

When the door opened again, Harry was glad to see that Goyle had put clothes on. Even if those clothes clung far too distractingly in the worst places, he was at least confident his eyes wouldn't give him away by lingering on those places. Probably. He wasn't surprised by the wards Goyle set, but if anything did show up Harry was confident in his ability to dismantle them. It was Goyle after all.

"All right. Can you tell me what you were doing this weekend? The department received reports of suspicious activity, and known Dark Arts supporters coming and going from your flat."

Greg continued to glare at Harry - because even he could tell that was a stupid question. Almost everyone he knew or cared about had been a 'Dark Arts supporter' during the war. And they had all been either found innocent or released from Azkaban. If they hadn't been, they'd still be in Azkaban and wouldn't have been to his flat. "I had a party," he said.

Potter would have to ask Pansy if he wanted a full list of those invited - though Greg didn't think he'd be telling Potter that. "Marcus was there, Pandora Montgomery." Those were the only two he could think of who'd actually spent time in the wizarding prison.

Harry made a note of the names, but they didn't come as a surprise. The idea of Goyle of all people having a house party made him want to laugh, but he supposed even Goyle had friends. It was inevitable that that would mean convicted and released Death Eaters.

"I'll need a full guest list, for formality's sake," he said, crossing his arms over his chest. "You can owl them to my office by end of business tomorrow." It would mean more paperwork for him, but some things had to be done by the book, even if it was a waste of time.

"Fine." Greg could get a list from Pansy and forward it on. Maybe he was being overly cautious, but he couldn't see any reason to involve Pansy if he didn't have to. He was pretty sure who was responsible for these 'reports of suspicious activity' and the idea that Mrs McHavelock was monitoring who visited made his skin itch. He'd have to up his security, though of course the building belonged to her...

He frowned at Potter. "Is that all?"

"Thank you for your cooperation," Harry forced himself to say. Goyle honestly hadn't done anything wrong, much as it pained Harry to admit as much, so he had to remain polite. The whole visit had been an exercise in futility, and he'd have to go visit Mrs. McHavelock now to impress the importance of not filing false reports with the Auror's office. His day just kept looking brighter.

Harry frowned back at Goyle, then nodded. "That's all." For now, he added silently. He didn't trust that Goyle was completely reformed, and would be keeping an eye on him nonetheless. "Have a good evening." The last was said with complete insincerity which even Goyle couldn't miss.
