RP: Reflection
Who: Bryn Cadwallader, Vikesh Moon
What: Stopping and staring in the middle of the street
Where: Monument Alley
When: Monday afternoon
Rating: SFW

Sometimes Bryn got distracted walking down Monument Alley. Of a dreamy disposition by nature, he often found himself looking at buildings and remembering what they had been like before the area had been rejuvenated. Or, more often of late, what they could potentially be in the future. The possibility of moving in with Chris and Ben had him thinking of moving in general. Moving forward.

Today, he caught sight of his reflection in the window of an unoccupied shop. It had been closed since January and before that it had only been open briefly last winter selling wrapping paper, tinsel and a whole host of Christmas supplies. If he squinted, he could almost imagine that his reflection was him inside the shop. He smiled wryly at the thought, tugging off his glasses to give them a quick polish on the hem of his jumper.

Maybe...

Except even if he had a shop, he didn't know what he'd do with it.

Bryn popped his glasses back on, blinking a bit short-sightedly. "Huh?" he asked, turning and trying to register actual words.

"Sorry. Yes. Fine. Just..." He waved a hand in a vague sort of way. "Away with the fairies there for a minute." He pushed his glasses up to a more comfortable position. "Don't mind me."

Fairies? Vikesh started looking around but he couldn't see any nearby, not even a cornish pixie. "I didn't see any fairies. Did they do anything to you before they left?"

If there were fairies about playing tricks, it was a good thing to know in advance.

Bryn frowned, then remembered that was the phrase the teachers at his Muggle primary school had used, not the professors at Hogwarts. Actually, they'd usually said something else and then taken a house point for not paying attention. By the time he'd moved into second year, professors had known not to let him sit anywhere near a window.

"It's just a saying. You know, I was daydreaming," he offered.

"Ah," Vikesh replied simply. That explained the strange way the man had been staring into the window. "It's probably not the best place for it, you know. Could be dangerous if the wrong being bumped into you. Does it happen often? Are you all right to get home?"

"Yeah, it probably could," Bryn agreed, not altogether bothered. He cracked a grin. "I try not to make a habit of it," he assured the other wizard. "Just feeling a bit distracted today." Glancing again at the shop, he was sure now it had potential. He just needed to figure out what that potential was. Just thinking about it made him hungry.

"I was actually just on my way to the market. I'll be fine."

Vikesh nodded. If the other man insisted he was fine, who was he to argue?

"All right, if you're sure. Good luck at the market," he offered, giving the man one last once-over before continuing on his way.
