With you? Of course!

Who's having a formal ball and where?

It's the 15th. The Cappers are hosting it, so it'll be very formal I'm sure. The dress is wizarding formal, I hope you don't mind me dusting off my old robes?

Why would I mind? I've never seen you in formal robes before. If it's anything like you in a suit, then I'm very much looking forward to it.

Considering the timing of the date and the hosts I think I may have to pay a visit to Twillfit & Tattings next week - I wouldn't want to embarrass you by wearing something not up to par.

This shouldn't be too different from anything the Fawley's had, right? Do you know the occasion? Why do I feel like I'm babbling right now?

Ah, well then, you weren't paying attention during the Yuletide Ball back in school, were you? I happen to cut quite a figure in them.

I unfortunately don't know the occasion, but you're always welcome to Babble and you'd look wonderful in anything at all.

Yes, I quite imagine it will be like a Fawley affair. Though Mrs. Capper has assured from me that my date will be willing to give me up for a dance or two with her children, just as a warning.

Au contraire, Mr. Pucey; I was very attentive at the Yuletide Ball, although I have to admit that I wasn't paying attention to you. I didn't wisen up until years later, and now I'm making up for that as much and as often as I possibly can. You are aware that you cut quite a figure in just about anything, right?

Oh, aren't you just pulling out all the charm now?

Willing to give you up? Okay, that's... not like the Fawley's do it then. Or any other formal function I've been to either. The closest I've come was filled out dance cards, but that didn't leave the date unattended to.

It's not charm if it's true, right?

Oh, I assume there will be dance cards, but Iris will most expect me to put my name on at least one daughter's card. If anyone thinks they're going to have that option with you, they've got another thing coming.

You don't think the truth can be charming?

Does she know who you're bringing, or will that be a surprise to be revealed there? I am trying not to be nervous about this, but I can't help it! I have done these things before. How are you so calm about this?

I suppose when speaking to you it can be.

I simply RSVP'd with a plus one, there's no reason to be nervous. You've been to your fair bit of pureblood functions after all. I have, also, been to quite a few pureblood affairs in my life, I find them mostly boring.

Having you on my arm will ensure this one will not be.

See? There you go again, charmer.

I've never been to a Pureblood function as a plus one, but I'll try to keep thinking boring about it, maybe that will help.

It'll be an evening with you, that is what matters, and that is what I'm looking forward to.

You like my charm.

Yes, gorgeous, think boring thoughts. I promise. We'll keep things very dull.

Will you have trouble finding a sitter?

(Speaking of the twins...)

I do, very much, and lucky me; you have it in spades.

It's not you I'm worried about. You're just about the only thing I'm not nervous about with all this. The Cappers are strict, if I remember correctly, and you and me? Well, we're not exactly anonymous, and I'm not exactly Pureblood... I'm about as un-Pureblood as they come, short of being Muggleborn.

No, not trouble with the sitter. Marie, the nanny, will stay with the night and get them ready for school...

Yes, the twins. I'd like it if you were here when I tell them, and I'd like for them to know before next weekend. Do you think that's possible?

So I did something right when I stunk up your office.

As for the kids, just say when, and I'll be there.

Come over tomorrow? You know they'll be asking questions, right?
