Journal: Grasping At Straws
Hiya everyone!

So I've a quick favour to beg if you'd please. I'm writing an article on loan to a different desk and I wanted a quick head count on folks who'd agree or disagree with the proposal to eventually purchase land and/or warehouses to develop further high streets or markets over the next ten or so years? It's an idea being floated around by the Department of Rejuvenation and I'd love to hear what you all thought of it?

Anyone who answers is liable to have me buy them a drink at a future date!

[Warded to Rose and Rolf]
When are you two lovebirds off for your little sexy holiday then? Do I get the flat all to myself this weekend? WHATEVER SHALL I DO?

[Warded to Ginny]
Hey Spike, keen for a drink this weekend?

Now that's an interesting perspective! From what I can understand, Rejuvenation is keen to do a mix of public and privately funded spaces. So the Ministry would pay for say parks or public use areas, and would facilitate the purchase of the areas but the shops would be built using private capital. At least that’s what I think is happening? The woman I interviewed was very excited and I had to keep ducking out of the way of her extravagant hand gestures.

You give a businessman enough of a tax incentive, and may some advertising like they do for football stadiums, and I'll bet you could get the public venues built with private funds as well.
