Handyman, Handyman
Who: Dominic and Megan
What: Smartening up the dressing area
Where: Hot Crossed Buns
When: Tuesday, 7.15ish
Rating: SFW? I mean, they are discussing a lingerie shop so be cautious.

After testing his usual wandwork for Duelling Club, Dominic stayed to watch a few of the bouts, even snapping a few pictures of people facing up to one another, wands drawn. He wasn't sure how they'd come out, whether or not the invisible walls would get in the way of the photography. In fact, it was seeking an answer to that question that had prompted him to take his camera along more than any desire to possess photos of the Duelling Club itself. Those he would probably pass on to Seamus if they turned out well, after offering Lavender her pick of the ones of herself. (She'd looked good, Dominic wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to photograph her in that outfit.)

It was just after seven when Dominic waved goodbye, packed his camera away and deposited it behind the bar to be picked up later. He walked down Monument Alley with his sleeves pushed up, enjoying the fresh night air. He stopped outside Hot Crossed Buns and knocked. He knew the shop was closed, but also knew Megan Stewart was expecting him. While he waited, he surveyed the window displays and raised an eyebrow. Well, this could be interesting.

Megan had had a much less exciting afternoon, though no less enjoyable. For her, there was no greater pleasure than making customers happy, particularly when she received an own from her husband-he'd be out late, don't wait up. It was the third night he'd said that, and as much as she hated being at home and the lack of anything she had to say to him and the desperate desire to avoid the awkward topic of making it to the bedroom together, she was starting to wonder if things were going on that she didn't really understand. Having a nice distraction in the form of a remodel was just what she needed.

She heard the knock and a smile spread on her face as she rushed to the door, an apologetic grin. "Sorry to keep you waiting. Hallo! I'm Megan. I don't know that we've met properly," she said, holding out her hand and blushing at realizing his attractiveness. Well. "I'm so glad you've come, I'm in need of something new. Come in, come in!" she said, shooing him inside and stepping back so he could take in the store. "As you can see, we like a little atmosphere here."

Dominic took her hand and smiled. "Megan," he echoed. "I'm Dominic. I don't think we have... I'd definitely remember." The way his eyes lingered on her figure was not, perhaps, entirely professional. He definitely didn't use his work as a way to pick up women, or men, but Megan's glossy dark hair, her curves and that blush were definitely ticking boxes for him.

He followed her inside, dragging his eyes away from her to consider the inside of her shop. He'd not been in before, not having any particular need of her wares, but it was very different from the few muggle lingerie shops he'd walked past in shopping centres. "I love the lights," he said, gesturing to the twinkling points of light over the bed. "This isn't what I expected," he admitted, his eyes bright with the challenge of it, of fitting whatever work he did to the atmosphere that already existed. "Did you have any specific ideas for what you want?"

His words-definitely remember-made her blush all the harder and she giggled only slightly at his compliment. Was he checking her out? No, he couldn't be, she thought, though she slipped her wedding ring surreptitiously off her finger and into her pocket in those few minutes. Perhaps it was nothing, but it couldn't hurt to flirt? Especially with things at home as tense and joyless as she could ever remember them being. It was nice to be appreciated, at the least. She tucked her hair being her ear and showed him around the shop.

She smiled happily when he complimented the lights. "Thank you! I really wanted to set a MOOD in here. Really, the place that needs the most help is the perfume area," she said, leading him to a part of the shop near the back which was not unattractive, but much more utilitarian than she preferred. "It's just kind of...boring, compared to the rest of the shop. And as you can see, no built in shelves or anything interesting to help people find the scents that suit them best. I want something...something..." she tried to search for the word and then just shrugged and smiled, "Sexier." It was the only word that fit hat she wanted.

Dominic followed her into the perfume area, enjoying the view from the back just as much as he had the view from the front. No wonder she worked in lingerie and perfume, she was incredibly sexy. When they stopped, he tore his eyes from her to study the narrow corridor. "Not the easiest space to work with," he observed, turning his eyes up to the ceiling. "What's upstairs? Because if you can spare the space up there I could make this ceiling arched." His expression turned thoughtful. "Of course, I can do it anyway, even if I have to make the space. It's just harder."

Shallower shelves would make it feel like there was more space, but Dominic wasn't really sure that would be sexier. "Shelves I can do, no problem, but... how would you like to help people find scents? I'm assuming you mean something other than your staff."

She caught his eyes having followed her shape and tilted her head to the side. Oh, he WAS checking her out. Megan bit her lip a bit as she finally brought her eyes back to looking at the problem in her space. "There's a flat upstairs, but it's empty. I just use it...when I need to work late." She had forgotten that she had a bed up there. Perhaps that was really good information to keep in mind. All kinds of possibilities. "So anything you need to do to make the space bigger, I would love it."

She nodded. "The scents are all meant to be tested on skin, to see how it works with each person's chemistry. I was hoping to have a long table with little testing stations, but...you know, pretty and sexy. Like the rest of the store. Though there really isn't much staff. Just me," she said, tucking her hair behind her ear and giving him a beaming smile.

He caught a glimpse of her white teeth digging into her soft pink lip. Was she flirting - or nervous? It was hard to tell sometimes, especially in a professional setting where he didn't quite feel it was appropriate to flirt outrageously just to see her reaction. Even if he really wanted to. "Okay, so arches," he made a gesture with his hands. "Maybe some mirrors, gauzy curtains." That would make the space feel bigger too, without forcing customers to face their reflection on either side - presumably it wouldn't be necessary during perfume testing to see what they looked like. "Long table along one wall with... arched shelves behind to reflect the ceiling and hold more samples?"

He moved down the length of the room as he talked, pulling out his wand. "Do you mind if I take some measurements?" He waited for her nod then set the charm to working. It was broadly based on the one in Olivander's shop that measured people for their wands. "You run this place by yourself?" he asked, since they had a few minutes for chat while his spells did their work. "How long have you been here? I've never been in before." He gestured down at his own masculine frame. "Not sure I have much need of pretty underwear." He gave her a grin, because he couldn't help flirting a little bit.
