Battlescars Journal: Anonymous
So who else had nightmares after hearing about the bombings yesterday?

At least I know what triggered these ones. I usually don't. They just happen, no obvious reason. It freaks me out every fucking time. They were really frequent during the war. Almost every night for a while. I don't understand why they haven't stopped. I was worried then, about losing people, about being safe. I'm not worried now, so why do I keep dreaming about finding his body? He's okay, I know he's okay. He doesn't travel by tube, or bus. Would it help if I told someone they didn't stop?

I wonder if we'll talk about these attacks on Sunday.

I actually didn't and I'm surprised. I didn't even take my potion. I had to put up charms though, I couldn't deal with next door listening to the coverage that loud.

I'm glad I didn't even part-walk to work yesterday though. I do sometimes and I wouldn't have been that close but there was probably chaos that would have set me on edge I doubt it would have been good for my triggers.

I'm glad I didn't hear until later and I missed most of the extra noise because of where my building is and the wards. I got to check my family are all okay easily enough though.

I don't always know what triggers my nightmares. Sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes I don't even get the one I expect. And now I'm going to go and do some breathing exercises. I still have some of the same ones I've had for years. I don't know if they'll ever stop completely.

We probably will talk about it. I think it will impact quite a few people and Seamus is usually good about dropping things in that aren't on the schedule if something has come up. If you don't think he will I could mention it you should ask him to before the meeting. I think he's usually there early.

I'm glad you and your family are okay.

I only really have one nightmare - it's always the same event, but in different places. Sometimes, I'll have one long one where that event happens over and over and over again in a different place each time. Those are the worst.

I don't know if I even want to talk about it, but I suppose other people will want to or need to, and I can just listen.

Thank you.

That sounds awful, I'm sorry. I can't really suggest anything that might help. Mine reduced with a combination of time and therapy and potions and talking. Sort of.

Listening can help too. I already mentioned it to Seamus. I'm happy to mention it to Seamus for you, if you want.

I should probably talk about it, but I don't want to worry anyone.

You don't need to do that, but thanks.

In my experience people want to know, even if they don't especially want to worry. If that makes sense?

I already did.

That's probably true, but the knowing and the worrying come together.
