RP: Flying Day Out
Who: Oliver Wood and Ginny Weasley
What: Somehow, Ginny is going flying with Oliver Wood and she doesn't quite know how or why but she's not complaining because he's hot.
When: Thursday, July 2nd, AM
Where: Meeting at Finnigan's and then off somewhere.
Rating: SFW

Ginny was up early for once. She went for a run, took a quick shower, threw on basic gear (leggings, a long-sleeve tunic-length t-shirt, and a leather jacket), made herself breakfast and coffee, and then headed downstairs to meet with Oliver outside the Pub. She still couldn't believe she'd sent him a message via journal when she'd had too much wine. Since then she'd asked Jane to take her journal in such instances, but Jane had been enjoying her misery and silliness far too much.

She watched the small crowds trickling through Monument Alley as she waited for Oliver, her broom leaning against the building behind her and her knapsack slung over a shoulder filled with snacks and bottled pumpkin juice and even a bottle of butterbeer for them to share over lunch. Ginny wasn't delusional enough to think Oliver had accepted her invitation out of anything more than old friendship (well, if you could even call having been Housemates 'friendship'), but she'd still stayed up most of the night with nervous butterflies in her stomach over seeing him in person.

Oliver reached forward as though he were going to pinch the tip of Ginny's tongue, halting a few inches from her face and smiling. "Careful now; you'll lose that, and you leave Gwenog to me. I'm sure she'll look the other way for a Weasley." With Ginny's confirmation on her ability to apparate Oliver nodded to her question, turned on his heel and disappeared into nothing.

The weather in Dorset matched that of London: partly sunny and quite warm; Oliver mentally praised himself for wearing his favorite linen pants and cotton t-shirt. A small, pleased smile drifted over his features while looking at Ginny. The Puddlemere pitch had been his home since he was 17, and inevitably Oliver had taken for granted the stadium. Seeing Ginny looking at the pitch with a sense of awe inflated a sense of renewed pride in Oliver.

"Welcome to Puddlemere Pitch."

When he spoke, she spun, her cheeks coloring in embarrassment. He'd clearly seen the wonder on her face. "I've been here during matches, of course, but never flown here," sometimes she questioned whether she'd made the right decision going into coaching instead of trying out for a team, moments like this, in fact.

"Thank you," she said sincerely, looking Oliver right in the face, despite her nerves at doing so. Shaking herself slightly, she asked less tensely, "Do you come fly much when you're not on the clock?" She knew Wood practiced a lot - more than a lot of the pros she'd worked with, even - but wondered if he ever just flew for the fun of it anymore.
