Cooking thoughts
I'm feeling adventurous, so I'm making chicken and cherry stew for dinner. If it's horrible, Susan and I will be at Finnigan's later.

Would having almond rice with it be too cherry bakewell? I can't quite decide.

Well, it wasn't the almonds-and-cherries that were the problem, in the end. I think I added too much water and the cherries got too soft, or I overcooked them because the recipe didn't have a time on it, just said 'simmer until the cherries are cooked and the flavours look well mixed'. Either way, they were too soft and everything tasted too samey.

The chicken itself was good, and I liked the almond rice a lot, though. Plus, Susan seemed to like it better than I did. Or she was being polite.
