Memo to Millicent
Mils,

You've been doing really well, both as my stand-in - thanks again for that - and on your own. Is it time to look for somebody else for the office, to free up more of your day?

Rich

Rich --

Thanks for that. I'm glad you're pleased.

I think it may be, if we're going to take on the second Bangkok contract and the clients in Surabaya. Would this be a "someone oversees all the Muggle business and someone oversees all the magic business" type of change, or are you looking for someone to be in charge of training the new hires?

-- Mils

P.S. Don't forget to settle up with Marcel about the rush tailoring order he did for the funeral.

Mils,

First of all, I'm not thinking of a muggle/magical split. You're just too good with all of our clients. I tossed you into the deep end and you've been swimming with the sharks. In five years you'll be dancing across the pool. Aprapos of that, I've credited your account for another tenth share of your junior partnership. Eight more to go. You should know it didn't put a significant dent in the pile of galleons you've made for me. The way you handled things when I was tied up at the Lovegoods made the decision easy for me. Not to mention I only paid for half of it. The IE Board of Directors picked up the other half. I know you don't see the company P&L yet, but we've been outperforming the other teams just about every week since you hit your stride. Wanted to tell you in person rather than this way, but... Hong Kong. Go out and celebrate anyway.

What I'm thinking of is someone to completely take over the paperwork mill and all the office duties so you'll be free to get out whenever you want, just like I'm doing now. Give you time to develop more of your own customers and projects. Our own pet bean counter and zoo keeper. You and I have different enough styles I believe it will benefit the new kids to rotate training with both of us as well as do some office time - if we find the right person to run it. I don't think anybody we've got around now would be right for the job. Our screening up to now has been for field agents. I'm open to suggestions if you have somebody in mind.

Rich

Ugh.... Addendum

Yes I settled with Marcel. Paid him in gold. He was chuffed.
