Millicent,

I'm glad they were well received. Now that I've got the enchantment parameters noted I could make more pretty easily, assuming I can find a supplier for the wooden roses themselves. I happened across them at a market, but a little research could probably point me in the right direction.

Is the interest yours or your step-mothers?

Dominic

Dominic,

I would give them as gifts if they were available, but the larger interest is my step-mother's, for an event she's spearheading. She's sent a note I've enclosed.

Millicent

[Written on Bulstrode Publishing stationery.]
Mr Chambers,

My name is Jane Bulstrode, of Bulstrode Publishing, and it has come to my attention that the exquisite gift I received from my step-daughter Millicent is your work. Bulstrode Publishing will be holding a children's tea at St. Mungo's in May, to raise funds for research into long-term damage and paralysis caused by attacks during the War. There will be thirty-five children attending, ages 7 to 12, as well as their families. Were you amenable to the idea, I was hoping to present each child with a rose during the closing speech, as a gift. I appreciate the amount of effort such an order would entail, so I would be pleased to discuss suitable compensation for your work.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

(signed)

Mrs Jane Bulstrode

Mrs Bulstrode,

I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the gift. In case Millicent didn't tell you, the scent should last about a week - though if you'd like it to last longer I can increase the strength of the enchantment, or else teach you how to do so yourself. I'd be happy to meet with you to discuss providing roses for your fundraiser. I've given away the remaining roses now, but can show you photographs of the different colours and talk about the scents - which ones you'd like, how long you'd like the scent to last for, etc. as well as giving you a quote for the work.

Give me a few days to see if I can source the roses themselves - I should be able to, it's just a matter of tracking them down and finding a price. Once I've done that, I'll get in touch again to arrange a meeting.

Yours sincerely,
Dominic Chambers
