[warded against Chris]

So um, I've been invited to a Valentine's dinner this weekend by someone, but I'm really not sure where exactly we stand. It's so much easier with pureblood etiquitte, I swear He's cooking me dinner.

So I'm wondering... what exactly am I supposed to wear? I feel terribly silly about the whole thing.

[/ward]

[warded to Mils]

HEEEEELLLLLLLP ME.

[/ward]

I've received another gigantic tent order today. Apparently someone liked the first quasi-mansion one I did at the end of last year. I don't think they realize the sheer amount of work that goes into these bloody big things, though. Always trying to negotiate the price down.

So sorry, I do so much of this by hand for quality's sake. If you want a giant piece of junk, please go to the nearest outfitter. I'm sure you'll love it when the floor collapses or the room shrinks on you.

They're not precisely the most scintillating things to work on, either, but sometimes the detail work can get interesting.

Something sexy but comfortable so you can still hex him if he crosses a line.

The line between the two is surprisingly vague, unfortunately.

You find a robe that is sexy, try it out, and make sure you are comfortable in it.

That's still easier said that done, but I'll figure it out. It's actually harder hiding the knives than anything.

I'd offer to go shopping with you, but instead I'll say tight on top (and by tight, I mean form fitting), flowy on bottom. Your choice on length. Knives can be hidden in the boots because you should wear boots to hide knives.

I might try a few things on for you later, if you're willing. I could use an opinion once I have options.

Boots are awesome like that.

Oh Merlin! A Valentine's date! And what do you mean you don't know where you stand with the bloke? He wants to cook you dinner on Valentine's Day?! I know I don't know you well or anything but I can't help but poke my nose in on something like this... he CLEARLY likes you!

I've a tonne of things in my closet, say the word and knowing you or not you're more than welcome to come take a look.

(Just a few examples)

I've known him for a bit, and we've gone out places, but nothing else aside from a very recent kiss or two has happened. (Not that I should be telling, but it's just a kiss, right?)

I have some things. It's a matter of deciding... you know, exactly how nice to dress. Fancy? More casual? Hems and necklines?

It has been... a terribly long time since I had anyone of any sort for a holiday like this. So I'm honestly trying to figure out how to present myself, especially since he's Muggleborn and I'm... well, not.

Dating a muggleborn? Good for you! It's always a good idea to get out of one's comfort zone, especially when we're just talking about a nice dinner with a guy who's only kissed you.

Was it a good kiss? Because that will affect the hems and necklines!

I sort of fell into it? It's decidedly odd after expecting an arranged marriage all these years. I have no idea what cues to follow anymore.

It was a very good kiss.

VERY good? Or very good.

Who were you supposed to marry? Merlin that's a personal question.

My pureblood parents never cared for that part of things, being that we're the sore thumbs of the pureblood world - made for much more fun for me, I can assure you.

Mmm. I thought it was VERY good, anyway.

A boy I was very serious with my final year. I haven't seen him since I left Hogwarts, but our parents were talking.

My aunt is still trying to get me to marry this Austrian wizard. I'm still saying no.

My parents were good in the fact they wouldn't have forced anything on me. I never really had a problem with how things were.

All right. He's cooking you dinner, but going on what you've said about him before, he might spontaneously decide to spirit you off somewhere in the spirit of the moment. So, something ravishing, but also comfortable. I'm going to be in Switzerland tomorrow in the morning, to see a designer in regards to a contract I've temporarily taken on for Rich, and I could look at his current style-book for you. Practically everything his design house puts out would be lovely on you. And they're good at customised orders.

Will you a least look for me? The guys replying are singularly unhelpful. Just make sure I'm not sending the complete wrong message, I guess. I trust your judgment. I'll send money along if you want. (Let's make sure I can sit down and not fear for showing what I don't want shown, yes?)

Ask him where you stand. It has to be good if he's cooking dinner for you. That sounds like the best time to just ask where you two stand.

Saying anything is hard That's why I usually end up just blurting things out. You could try that method. It isn't romantic, but it gets the job done.

Blurting things out has rather been trained out of me.

Except when I'm drunk. And I think I shouldn't get drunk during this dinner.

Wear something alluring but not so sexy that all he can think about is getting you out of it. If he's taken time to ask you for Valentine's I'm assuming he may not just be out for sex.

To be honest? I'm mostly clueless. I haven't really had a relationship since my Seventh year.

Mostly I just don't want to be someone's fling.

You will have to tell me how it turns out.

Trust me, no one in their right mind would ever be able to see you as just a fling.

Good for you!

I've got contacts all over the world. Since my taste in women's clothing is probably suspect, get Millicent to put you in touch with whichever design house will suit your style most.

I should not be as worried about this as I am.

Mils has already offered to help me find something. Thank you so much.
