Journal - Backdated to Tuesday
Tuesday

Warded to Tristan, Julian, Mils, Wayne, Chris, and anyone else who would legitimately get an invite

So, I was thinking of doing a shopping trip to Paris, and I thought I would invite all of you. I need to know soon, so I know what kind of flat to rent. I was thinking of leaving Friday after work, and staying through the end of Tuesday of next week. That way, anyone who wants can come and go, and stay or leave, at their leisure according to their schedules.

I was hoping to get the rest of my Christmas shopping finished, and just relax. I find myself in dire need of not being in England for a few days.

Seeing as dinner Friday is out (don't worry!) - can I take you out for dinner one of the nights we're there?

(Which, yes, is my way of saying I'm definitely joining).

No, we can still have dinner -- we could always go afterward, since my portkey is self-activated, not time. Since you're going, I don't have to get another one, if we go at the same time.

And of course we can go to dinner there (too)!

Damn. I just discovered the down side to working the equivalent of part time on the weekend.

Which is why I will get you a portkey for Sunday night or Monday morning, and you can join me there then! If you want, of course. That's half the reason I decided on four days or so.

It'd have to be Monday morning after 9. I've got that standing appointment with the therapist Monday mornings.

I'll get you an open use Portkey. Fabulous thing about working with Richard is I've met some people who do some amazing yet legal things, and I have access to them. You can come in Sunday night, leave Monday morning (if you want) and come back immediately after.

I'm being selfish -- I want to take you somewhere nice.

It'll have to be Monday morning. I don't get off until half three Sunday night/Monday morning, and my appointment is eight in the morning.

I really don't know what to say to that other than thank you.

That works. I look forward to you coming in.

Always, love. Besides getting away from England will be good for us.

I'll be there after work on Friday, and go straight to work Monday morning. If you're staying through Tuesday, I can come back after work Monday, too. Jane has a friend in Paris who may able to help you find a suitable place.

Thanks the gods for open-ended Portkeys, right? That sounds brilliant. We must go shopping together while you're here, and catch up properly. I am staying through Tuesday, unless something pops up unexpectedly. We can do dinner or a spa or something.

Oh wonderful. I'll owl Jane, then. I have a few connections but I'm always open to finding something better.

Too right! I need a new dress for Father's company party, and some new shoes for the one I have for the Scamander dinner. There used to be this wonderful little boutique near the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile... We should see if it's still there!

Yes, do. He'll know who's going away for the weekend, and let you know whose house would suit best.

I was told the other day that I dress too "conservatively," though the boy didn't mean anything by it. I don't really know that I want to go more modern, but I'll take a look at dresses. Now that I have funds, I suppose I should re-expand my wardrobe. The boutique sounds fantastic, we'll definitely hit it up. I have nothing new for the dinner, if I decide to go, though transfiguration has long been my friend.

Wonderful. Owl sent!

Conservatively? Has the boy in question seen that one dress you wore to the Yule Ball, with the neckline that nearly gave Professor Snape death by over-raised eyebrows? We'll have to get you something scandalous while we're in Paris.

(Oh, look, unintentional poetry.)

I think it has more to do with the fact my hemlines are very rarely higher than just above my knee? And I don't have anything terribly plunging anymore, though the look on the professor's face was worth the points. So worth the points.

(yay poetry)
