Journal: seeking advice & other notes
[Warded to Mel, Roger, & Mari] -- So... When is the right time to ask a guy out on a date? Or, is that not a thing that I should do? Or what if I'm totally wrong? I just... there's been a lovely lunch and drinks and notes back and forth but... not once have I been asked out on a date. Am I missing something here?

[Warded to Fin] -- It was nice running into you the other night. Definitely better than balancing my books like I always do on the 14th. Something about company and a glass a wine that picks up a girl's whole week.

[Warded to Gemma] -- Is the salon doing holiday-themed nail treatments yet? I've got a hundred meetings for holiday parties this coming week so was thinking something subtle might give me an edge. Let me know if you've got an opening? PS. Tokyo was a blast, I don't know if I ever said that outright.

...the lunch was take out at my office and drinks was just running into each other at the pub when I was working on my paperwork. Neither count as dates, right?

Take out at your office? Was he there to book you for party? Or was he there for take out at your office?

He sent me a message in the journal and it was a Wednesday and he wasn't busy and I was and he came over with take out from the Pub. Remember when I asked you to keep Carmen and Amanda at your place for a 'long lunch'? But it was... take away and new acquaintance conversation.

Though, I'm not sure, but I think he just asked me out? When I sent a note to you all, I sent one to him, too, saying I was glad to run into him the other night. And then he asked if I want to join him for a glass of wine sometime?

Yes, yes, I remember that day, and I wasn't asking specifics... although now that you started, tell me everything!

Anyway, I just meant, you had lunch with him at your office. HE brought lunch to you at your office and he wasn't there to book a party. I'd say that's a pretty good "new acquaintance conversation". That "new acquaintance conversation", though, would that be the kind of conversation you have with someone you want to get to know? Oh, Rowena, if only there was a word that could describe such a situation...

You're asking me if he just asked you out? Sounds like he was glad to run into you too. Cho, love, just go with it. Relax. If you don't want to meet him for a glass of wine, don't meet him for a glass of wine. If you do, then go meet him for that glass of wine. Or suggest something else entirely. Or tell him you're not interested if you're not interested.
