I've never been able to understand the muggle traditions of Guy Fawkes night. It always seemed horribly distasteful but recently its become downright untenable.

Yesterday evening does not rank high up on my most favourite public holidays of the year and my mood has likely been influenced by gaining a cold from my co-worker who sniffled and sneezed into her handkerchiefs like she was solely responsible for stemming the tide of snot from her ruby red festive nose.

It's less a time of year thing than something we do to keep close to each other. Camping is a good thing to help with that, we've found. It's a lot of fun.
