Journal: Roger Davies
Hello people! I just found this journal in the bottom of my Quidditch bag and I thought it was probably time I actually interacted with you all again. I just got back from a couple of days in Greece, helping my family prepare for an English wedding in the next few weeks, so that was interesting!

Here have a photo as I'm a git...

It was very hard as you can imagine.

How is everyone though? Who's keen to catch up and go to the pub?

[Warded to Marcus]
So... An eligible Frenchmen tried to woo me into bed the other day with promises of showing me "ze many interzting uses of chocolat in ze boudoir" which was hilarious. Obviously I need you to fend the randy French men off me Marc, will you do that for me?

[Warded to the friends of the warder / Warded against those who wish harm and gossipmongers]
So I've been looking into finding my dad, and I've come up with some interesting leads. I'm slightly terrified of going further with the whole thing, what do you think I should do?

I grew up without my birth father too, although I had a stepdad from when I was fairly small, I knew almost nothing about my father for years. I only looked for him after the war because Mum hadn't liked to talk about him.

I think, given the circumstances, I'd say go for it. Finding out about him might not turn out well or how you think, but if you don't like him you don't have to contact him again.

My story had an okay ending. Not something I talk about much, but my father died not long after I was born. Death Eaters. But it doesn't look like he didn't want me.

Aw well it's good that you had a step-dad though, right? Unless he wasn't nice in which case not good at all.

I think the good thing is that I don't really have very high expectations of the situation. Absolutely best case scenario is that he talks to me, worst case is that he laughs and slams the door in my face. But yeah, I think I will go for it.

That's good in a way? Like at least he didn't just walk out? He... Yeah, I know what you mean mate.

Yeah, it was. My stepdad was amazing. I've called him Dad since he married my Mum, raised me as his own without lying about me being his. I mean the only thing I really missed out on was magic. Mum and Dad are both muggles and I was raised without magic, which I might have got if my father had been alive.

I wish you all the best with your search, and if you'd like to talk about it later on in the process feel free to drop me an owl or message.

And yes, I'm glad he didn't walk out. I mean he did, but talking with Mum we think it was probably to protect us during the first Voldemort war.

I was about to begin deciding whether it's better to have a father figure or magic growing up, but that seems stupid.

Thanks, I think I will do! It's nice to be able to talk to someone who was in the same boat.
