i'm not going to make a list of my unfinished fics -- i did so about a year ago, and there were 29 items on the list. it hasn't gotten any shorter since then; it's gotten even longer. i'm just going to focus on picking up one thing at a time and working on it.
the one item from your list that you most want to complete:candlelight -- weird orlando bloom/elijah wood lotrips/kingdom of heaven sort of crossover thing, balian (orlando bloom's character) and his servant elijah o.O i've got almost 4000 words done, and it only needs another 1500 or so to complete it. and it's been this way for over a year.
a teaser:
“Elijah,” he says sharply.
There’s a moment of silence, and Balian looks to see if he’s already alone.
“Yes, syyid?” Elijah says.
“Bring a light,” Balian says, scrambling his shirt on over his head, not noticing or caring that the cloth is sticking to his still damp skin.
“A light?” Elijah asks in confusion, coming a little closer.
“Please,” Balian says, his voice now awkwardly soft. “Bring me a light ... if ... if you want to.”
Elijah grins. He crosses to the nearest chest and takes up one of the candles burning all around the room. He puts the bed curtain aside.
“I have brought a light, syyid,” Elijah says.
Balian stares at him, eyes wide, but doesn’t speak. Elijah lifts the candle a little, purses his lips, and blows out the flame. Balian’s eyes flicker.
“I don’t - I’ve never - ”
Elijah drops his gaze, and sets the extinguished candle down on the chest at the foot of the bed.
“It would be my honor - my delight - to teach you, syyid,” he says, his voice steady but his cheeks flushing self-consciously.
