Anzelm eyerolls at those who can't say his name... ([info]manofauthority) wrote in [info]felix_ooc,

Intro!post :D
Hi everyone! I'm Heather and I think I've played with pretty much all of you before. I'm bringing five kiddos over here - three currently of Goblet, one previously of Goblet and one from a different game. Whether you've played with the char or not, I'd love to plot and work out backstories/future lines etc. See below, because I'm still working on updated bios at the moment ;)

Leon ([info]argentumvir) was Head Boy in the year of the Triwizard Tournament, and hasn't been lacking in attention since. For those of you who don't know him, he's a blond haired blue eyed boy who loves to be the centre of attention, and basically, much of the school thought Dumbledore and Flitwick were trolling them by picking him as prefect, let alone Head Boy. He has a good heart, though, as well as leadership skills which were what really won him the job. In Goblet he was BFFs with Luke Hammonds and Natasha Erikson, and a founder member of the drama club. Highly confident, he's unafraid to stand out from the crowd whether on serious issues or frivolous matters such as admitting he doesn't really care for Quidditch.

Post-Goblet, he went to WADA but fled to France with his family for the third year of his course, which coincided with the war - his mother worked at the Ministry and realised that their vehemently pro-Muggle stance would get them in serious trouble. While in France, he reconnected with fellow drama club Samir Karim after a chance meeting, but other than that, he would only really have kept in touch with Luke and Natasha due to communication difficulties. He returned to the UK right after the war and completed his degree, winning the WADA graduate prize. Immediately after graduating he threw himself into theatre work and became pretty well known doing that, but these days he's better known for being one of the stars of The Aurors, a WWN soap which starts its third season at the end of August.

He dated Natasha for a couple of years after the war but they sort of fell apart as she went off to a foreign training placement and he threw himself into his new acting work - the media, if digging into his love life, either take a "he's pining for her and that's why he dates around so much" stance, or or one of "who is this mysterious beauty he talks so little of - and will they ever get back together?" Finally, his family still own a stupid number of businesses between them. Grandfather Beery manages the Wiseacre Wizarding Equipment in Diagon, with Leon's father running the equivalent in Hogsmeade. His brother and sister each manage a branch of Beery's, a muggle themed café bar - Alexander's being in Diagon and Caitlin's in Hogsmeade.

Larissa ([info]ravenclawlari) was a 6th year at the time of the Tournament, and although *just* too young to enter herself, was one of those who took a neutral stance on the Hogwarts champions, eyerolling at the behaviour of some students along with her BFF, Hamish (with whom she is still BFFs - despite their respective mothers pushing them towards being something more). She's still a half-Afrikaner and still obsessed with sports magical and muggle, but as they're all out of school now, no longer has to nag Hamish into actually doing some work.

Right after Hogwarts she went into Healer training alongside the likes of Hamish's brother Cassius, but always had the intention to go into Sports Healing. She'd only been studying for a year when war broke out and her family also managed to flee, with the excuse that requests had been made for her mother - a high profile charity campaigner in South Africa - to return for a domestic crisis. The Samuels family used diplomatic channels to escape, and remained out of sight for the rest of the war. Larissa herself continued her training at a wizarding hospital in Pretoria, and subsequently with the South African team Bloemfontein Broomflight, and only returned full time to the UK a couple of years ago. In the meantime, she kept in touch with everyone through long distance owls - unlike others, she was not trusting enough to return immediately after the war, though she visited her friends on several occasions.

She now works for Hamish's team, the Montrose Magpies, and was recently promoted to Healer-in-Charge after the retirement of the highly experienced Head Healer. You will still find her in muggle bars on a frequent basis, screaming on her beloved Springboks rugby team.

Anaïs ([info]_dumspirospero_) is a 6'1 French-Canadian redheaded glamazon who, if only she spoke with an English accent, might be mistaken for a Weasley (she would so be a Gryffindor, though). Feisty and full of self confidence, she was Quidditch Captain for the winning team at Beauxbatons during her 5th and 6th years, before coming to Hogwarts for the tournament. Through having a rather jumbled heritage herself (Dad is a Quebecois half-blood who worked as a Canadian government attaché for the French Ministry, Mum is a French Squib who works in their Muggle Liason Office), she always stuck up for those who were picked on for a less than pure heritage. Right out of school she was accepted as a reserve for the Quiberon Quafflepunchers, and played as a reserve for two years until winning a starting place. She stayed there until the start of July, when it was announced that she had signed for the Ballycastle Bats. She is currently going through moving all of her stuff over to Belfast and awaiting the team's next match.

She made her debut for the Canadian National Quidditch Team at the 1998 QWC, though she was only a reserve, making one appearance. A starting player at last year's tournament, the team didn't make it past the group stages, but as a player from a country relatively new to Quidditch, Anaïs received plaudits for her confidence and emerging leadership skills.

Even more so than Leon, Anaïs is a child of privilege which may wind some folks up the wrong way, although she has never acted stuck up on it, as her family's position was achieved through hard graft. There is no denying, though, that as she was well out of the way of Britain's troubles during the war and that her father is now Canadian ambassador to the French Ministry (as well as owning a rather spectacular apartment on the Rue de Rivoli), she has had an easier life than any of the five chars I have here.

Anzelm (this journal) was at Goblet for a while but I withdrew him due to a player he had lines with vanishing, so even if you do know him, he has changed somewhat. What has remained the same is he's still from an old Polish pureblood family (on both sides) that took great delight in pissing off the old fashioned types wherever they could. Dad was a lawyer for the victims of Grindelwald (and still is, along with liasing with those with equivalent posts in the UK after the fall of Voldemort), Mum was a bohemian artist who gave birth to Anzelm before getting married, which she did at 8 months pregnant with her second child. Both the older Szczepanski kids attended Hogwarts for the tournament, and Anzelm is still BFFs with Viktor Krum after playing for the same Qudditch team as him at Durmstrang. He's still a former Durmstrang prefect who hated Karkaroff's guts (the feeling was mutual) because of his own liberal views and was very much a thorn in the administration's side. He's also still one of those annoyingly talented gits who speaks six languages - Polish (obviously), English, Norwegian, Bulgarian, Russian and Finnish. Yay Durmstrangers!

What has changed: instead of enjoying the attention of Hogwarts ladies everywhere, he met and began to date a girl I haven't named whilst at Hogwarts fairly early on in the tournament. They attended the ball together and dated throughout the year, and kept in touch after the Durmstrang delegation left, enjoying a long distance relationship until both were qualified in their respective careers (I've left it open as to whether she was from Hogwarts or Beauxbatons, in case anyone wants to pick up that line. Ahem). They have a daughter who turned four in February, and a son who is eighteen months old. They got married two years ago. And for those of you who like obvious maths as character signposts, why yes, they followed in the footsteps of Anzelm's parents in certain respects ;) Anzelm himself went back to using both his parents' surnames after he left Durmstrang, and his children both have doubled barrelled names also.

During the war, Anzelm was a soon-to-be-qualified Auror at the Ministry in Poland. Naturally, European magical governments were highly concerned about events they were hearing about in Britain, and Anzelm was one of a unit of foreign Aurors deployed to help sneak both British and foreign citizens out of the country once they had been tracked down. Anzelm was in the country at the time of the Battle of Hogwarts and so ended up as the only one of my kiddos who actually fought there. Offered a post in the UK upon qualifying fully, she and Anzelm returned to the UK together for good in the summer of 1998, with Aurélia being born in February 1999 - interesting timing again, Anzelm ;) He still jaunts off around Europe for liason purposes, but is mostly settled in the UK now as a family man. His next project is to begin training the latest batch of recruits in reducing their reaction times to attacks. Oh yeah.

FINALLY...

Kevin ([info]stillkevin) is NOT the Kevin Whitby of canon in this context - canon!Kev is a younger cousin, named after the same deceased family member. So, enough about that. If you were at Feinted (or even May 02), you'll remember Kevin as a friendly-yet-somewhat shy typical Hufflepuff and former prefect who worshipped at the altar of Care of Magical Creatures class. He's still very much that way now, as he works as a dragon keeper and researcher for the Dragon Restraint and Research Bureau of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. A Yorkshireman born and bred, he lives in Haverfordwest in South Wales for the ease of access to the hunting grounds of the Common Welsh Green... oh, and he's an animagus, completing training a year out of Hogwarts. He takes the form of a bat. He's my least recent of my five and has had the biggest time shift, so he has the shortest description due to less plot. I'd like to develop him while in game as a result.

PLOT WITH MEEEEEEEEE.

*dances*

As you know, I have ten here, which you'll know in one for or another:

Miles Bletchley ([info]chickenman), former Slytherin, is the only one of mine you haven't played with. He's overall a nice guy who despises purists but won't say no to tolerating them if he gets a free broomstick in the process (see Draco and the Nimbus 2001s in CoS). He has a weird sense of humour and an annoying tendency to give silly nicknames to people, usually based on their surnames, but he does that without any malice. He's Keeper for the Falmouth Falcons but lives in Upper Flagley, sharing a cottage with roommate Jade Dorny and with a garden gnome, Tibbles, who one day invaded the home and refused to leave.
During the year of the Tournament Miles would have called Leon "Mr Head Boy Sir" and treated him with as much respect as his strange sense of humour would have allowed. He'll be friendly, but might occasionally crack jokes about the acting business.
As he was in the same year as Larissa (and was Cass' dormmate) I'm sure they'll know each other. He'll be friendly but either call her "Sammy" or "Mrs Fraser" because he's nice like that. :P
We've discussed Miles and The Bold One Anaïs. This is going to be fun. *grins*
Friendly with Anzelm? He was never outspoken on that matter, but as I've said purists tend to disgust him and he approves of anyone supporting equality.
Kevin: yay fellow Yorkshiremen! We'll have to see how they get along in game.

Leah Cooper ([info]leahcooper, former Ravenclaw, whom you'll know from Absolution. Related to the Weasleys from the Prewett side, she has the same fiery personality of the canon Prewett women (i.e., Molly and Ginny). She's no longer that gawky-looking geeky girl as she made corrective laser surgery to show her colleagues at the Muggle Liaison Office how advanced muggle medicine is, and upgraded her wardrobe to fit her position, but inside she's still a big ball of insecurity when it comes to how she sees herself.
She was a second year when Leon was prefect, so I'm not sure if he'll remember her. She used to look up to him back then, and will be friendly nowadays.
She and Larissa are both outspoken sport-loving Ravenclaws, so maybe they'll get along well?
She also has a lot in common with Anaïs (yay for tall, fiery red-haired glamazons!), so even though I doubt they had any interaction at Hogwarts I'm sure they'll get along wonderfully once they start talking on these journals.
Leah definitely approves of Anzelm's family's fight for muggleborn rights. They might know each other from the Ministry, perhaps?
She'll be friendly to Kevin.

Tiago Delgado ([info]surfista) you'll know well. :) He's still the same chill, surf-loving guy, though he's now laid off the pot. He's a morning DJ at the Portuguese equivalent of the WWN and is still a bachelor, living in an apartment not far from the beach with his small dog.
Tiago will remember Leon and will be friendly. They can exchange stories about working on the radio.
He'll be friendly to Larissa, Kevin and Anzelm (and approves of the name Aurélia, which is written the very same way in Portuguese).
Tiago still adores Anaïs and will engage on friendly banter anytime.

Hamish Fraser ([info]thatsbampot) is another one you'll know well. He still lives at the farm with his parents and little Lorna (who is now eight and looks like Taylor Momsen back when she did Grinch because apparently the whole Warrington-Fraser clan needs to have Gossip Girl actors as PBs :P) and hopes to dedicate himself full-time to farming after he retires from Quidditch.
He and Leon got along well, so I can't see why that would have changed.
Nothing for him and Larissa. Nuh-huh. Nope. XD
He goes "Pfffft!" at Anaïs' move to the Bats, but overall he'll be friendly.
He'll be friendly to Anzelm and Kevin.

Jamie Huggins ([info]weedboy), former Hufflepuff, is another one you might remember from Absolution. A muggleborn scouse of Jewish descent (his maternal grandfather is a rabbi at the Princes Road Synagogue in Toxteth), he was a wandless during the war, dated Lucy Yaxley during the Absolution year, and was the non-Gryffindor member of the Delinquents. He and fellow Delinquent Peter Jones own a herbalist shop on Diagon Alley (and have a side business on marijuana) and live in the apartment above it.
Again, Jamie was only a second year when Leon was Head Boy, so I'm not sure if they'll know each other well. He'll be friendly, though.
He'll be friendly to the other four as well.

Samir Karim ([info]goldenpharaoh) is another one you'll know. He lives in Montpellier with Rémy and is making a living as an artist. He's also been learning about computers and exchanges emails with his sister daily.
As you've said, he and Leon met in Paris during the war, so maybe they've kept in touch?
He and Larissa were in the same year, so maybe friendly?
Friendly with Anaïs and Anzelm as well.
Kevin is a former housemate, who probably suffered from the massive energy that was Samir and Barney together in the common room (thankfully he didn't have to share a dorm with them like Cedric, though). He'll be friendly.

Luna Lovegood ([info]heliopaths) is and always be Luna, so there's not much that needs to be said about her. She's already working as a naturalist and travels around the world in search of unusual animals, often writing about strange food she ate or something unusual she's found - like Japanese toilets. :P
Leon might remember her because it's a bit hard to forget the weird third-year (and housemate) who kept hugging everybody for good luck during the OWL/NEWT period while you were Head Boy. :P She'll treat all of your kids the same Luna-ish way, regardless of who they are.

Cormac McLaggen ([info]batskeeper again needs no introduction. He's now Keeper of the Ballycastle Bats after a few years with the Chudley Cannons (during which time the Cannons managed to win games on occasion!), and does some occasional work as a model, usually wearing very little. :P In February he and girlfriend Allegra became the proud parents of Cormac McLaggen, Jr.
Cormac has no problem with Leon, though he might scowl if the former Head Boy rates higher than him in a Witch Weekly list of hot wizards. XD
He'll be civil to Larissa.
Anaïs: yay teammates! Just don't be too mean to him during practice, okay? He can't help his big head. :P
Anzelm: would having children when unmarried be a reason for bonding? *grins*
He'll be friendly to Kevin, in his own Cormac-ish way.

Declan McLaggen (this journal), Cormac's kid brother, and another familiar face from Absolution. After the war he had a breakdown due to survivor's guilt and post-traumatic stress, but he's made a full recovery, apart from the nightmares and anxiety that will inevitably show up from time to time. He lives a semi-hippy existence in Northern Ireland with his fiancée Su Li (the wedding will happen very soon!), writes a column on animal care for the Daily Prophet manages Cormac's Quidditch career, and is following his lifelong dream of breeding flying horses; in fact, he's currently trying to mix aethonans and zebras just to see what happens...
Again, he'll be friendly with Leon. They can exchange stories about their tenures as Head Boy. One word of advice, though, is that Hugo Beery (whom, as we've discussed, will be Leon's distant cousin) was Declan's arch-nemesis, so don't take it personally if he has trouble saying or writing the name "Beery" without looking as if he's just sucked a lemon.
He has nothing bad to say about Larissa or Anzelm. :)
He approves of Anaïs's move to the Bats, and even though he and Cormac get along well now he's all up for any Cormac-teasing that might occur. ;)
He and Kevin can geek out over CoMC together.

And finally Zoe Wagtail (<lj user="misswagtail</b>) is once again someone you'll know well. She's now the manager of Flourish and Blotts, preparing herself to take over the business once her father retires. Her muggleborn mother died during the war after being framed for the murder of Yue's and Morag's parents and Kissed, and after Voldemort's defeat the three Wagtail children fought a legal battle to have her cleared of all charges. She will be friendly to Leon, Larissa, Anaïs and Anzelm. She and Kevin were former Hufflepuff prefects together, so I'd say they knew each other well back at Hogwarts even if they were a couple of years apart. Friends? Phew, that was long. That'll teach me to play so many characters...

Leon will totally pretend to not be indignant (award winning actor and all) but he'll definitely be pissed off about a relative he hasn't spoken to for years being such a pain in the arse. XD
Ha ha, he and Anais can gang up on Cormac if necessary ;)
Animal!geeks ftw!

I'm good with all the Zoe stuff. She might have met/heard of Anzelm's father in passing too, due to his legal aid/consulting work?

Leon will win points if he refers to Hugo as a pain in the arse where Declan can hear/read. Don't worry, though, he's trying to forget Hugo exists so he won't mention him anyway. ;)
Declan approves of that.

I'm sure she has. Would Anzelm's father be willing to take the case, by the way? With her bother being a superstar, money would be no objection and they would have made sure they got the best.

Random friendlies will be good for Jamie :)

Keeping in touch works for Samir and Leon works well, as they do have shared interests and all. Ditto the middle three, although he may know Anais a little better if Anais still gets along well with Rémy? Friendly with Kevin also works :)

I look forward to random Luna-ish-ness etc. XD

Ha ha, a pretend rivalry for the hearts and minds of tall-hot-blond-strapping-young-men fans would be a lot of fun, especially as neither of them exactly has a small ego! But you know, hot blond models etc, there's enough room for all of them ;)
She'll probably only get annoyed with him if the Bats beat the Magpies and he brags, to be honest!
Anais will totally enjoy taking him down a peg or two, but in that odd Gryffindorish way, she'd probably defend him against outsiders if he was just being his usual self. Think of it as an "he's an idiot, but he's OUR idiot!" kind of attitude. They might have to do interviews or photoshoots or something together sometime?
Anzelm can probably offer parenting advice or something, but it might constitute "as long as they stay in one piece and aren't too traumatised, just go with it"... lol! He can empathise about anyone being annoying about not marrying *before* the conception though.
Ha ha, Cormacish. This could be interesting indeed XD

Random friendlies FTW. :)

If Anaïs and Rémy still get along well, then he'll definitely be a bit closer to her at this stage. I remember the two of them discussing art when the Beauxbatons delegation first arrived at Hogwarts, so there's room for a really nice interaction.

Luna is queen of randomness, so you can count on her to be entertaining in that respect.

There is indeed enough room for all hot blond models, though maybe not for their egos. :P
Oh, he will brag, I'm afraid. It's stronger than him.
Yes, interviews and photoshoots might be inevitable since teams tend to do that sort of thing together on occasion. And I like the idea of Anaïs poking him but jumping to his defense against outsiders.
That's Cormac's philosophy on parenting, actually. That, and doing the exact opposite of what his father would do. Cormac and Allegra have no plans about getting married in the near future (maybe after they have another kid), so he just ignores those who go on and on about marriage for the most part. He firmly believes that two people should get married when they feel like having that ceremony, and it should be about the two of them alone rather than about incoming parenthood.

We'll see what Julie says about Rémy and Anais, but there's a chance that they'd get on anyway, and there was the opportunity for them to hang out with Anais playing in France for so long.

BATTLE OF THE EGOS. Ahem. Leon claims that at least he is a bachelor in spirit if not in name though ;)
Ha ha. Be prepared for a tiny woman with a fiery African heat coming right at you, Cormac McLaggen ;)
The idea of them as Bats teammates is really making me giggle now, hee hee.
Anzelm says with experience that further children can surprise you with timing anyway, so don't sweat the details when it comes to wedding planning. Just isn't worth it ;)

Oh yes, there would definitely be plenty of opportunity for them to have interacted during these past few year, even if she and Rémy didn't keep in touch (Rémy and Samir themselves lost touch for a few years, anyway, and only met again sometime in 1999/2000).

Cormac says being a bachelor in spirit is overrated.
Oh dear. *sniggers*
It will definitely be amusing.
Yeah, that's another reason why Cormac and Allegra aren't really in a hurry. They'll just let things flow.

If Anzelm's feeling particularly naughty he'd suggest how running off to a register office with a couple of witnesses is almost as much fun as not marrying at all, because then relatives can't interfere. Muhahaha.

Cormac scowls at Leon. XD
Knowing those two, they'd much rather go for something big and with lots of guests. Hamish is in full support of this, though - his parents ran off to Gretna Green, mum heavily pregnant and him and Cass as the only witnesses, and it was still a lovely ceremony.

Muahahaha.

I have yet to decide how Anzelm's wedding actually happened, but I do think it'd be very much about him and the bride with family members getting NO SAY WHATSOEVER. Probs quite quiet, though, with the best man being one of the world's most famous wizards and all XD

I actually remember Miles from Phoenix Administration XD Unless he has changed an awful lot from there? Leon would totally have eyerolled at that particular name and would allow the acting jokes to go past him, most likely.
Mrs Fraser is so close to the bone that I cannot help but giggle. He MUST call her this publicly. :D
Anais maintains she could kick his arse, but it'll still be hilarious to see if anyone describes it has hate!flirting because of her reaction, methinks!
Anzelm will happily share stories of how he and his parents all shocked Eastern European pureblood society, ha ha...
Kevin says Yorkshiremen ftw.

He probably won't remember her from back then, but if she has a public profile these days, he'll know who she is. There's the pro-Muggle/Muggleborn link too.
We can play them out and see :D
Tall model-like redheaded feisty gals ftw. *fistbump*
I vote yes to this. I also imagine Szczepanski Snr may have been spotted there on very rare occasions, consulting and so on.
Fair enough :)

Radio stars are the wizarding equivalent of epic celebs, etc, so Leon and Tiago can def swap stories. I'm sure I have pics of Leon's PB surfing somewhere which I can dig out for laughs...
Yay for friendly, and I kind of picked Aurélia just because I liked it, but as it's flexible in a few languages it also suits plot flexibility ;)
Anais will happily squish him any time. He also needs to teach her to surf some time. XD

I'm good with them being friendly acquaintances!
Yeeeeeeeeeah he and Larissa have no connection at all. Nuh-uh.
When she talks about putting goals past *him* she will at least be friendly and be kidding, unlike with your other keepers ;)
Awesome :)

Ohhh right, you were at PA too! :D Yes, Miles is the same guy he was back then, his username hailing back to that plot where he was turned into a chicken. :P
Since Miles just cannot let go of something when it amuses him, there's a strong possibility he'll still call Leon that. *grins*
Oh, he will call her that publicly. You can rest assured of that.
If nobody else does, then Miles himself certainly will. Back in PA Megan Jones was always threatening to hurt him and he called her "love of my life" in retaliation.

Leon will definitely know who Leah is. Besides tutoring the families of muggleborns soon to enroll at Hogwarts (an idea of hers that got approved by the Shacklebolt administration), she is the official spokesperson for the Muggle Liaison Office, so her profile is pretty public, in spite of her attempt to keep her privacy outside office hours.
Szczepanski Snr will definitely know Leah, then. And with her cousin Arthur heading that Department, I can see the extended Weasleys and the Szczepanskis having a close connection in that aspect.

I can so imagine them bonding over surfboard if those pics end up being used in game. XD
Oh yes, plot flexibility is certainly a good thing. :)
He worked as an instructor before turning his attention to radio, so he'll be more than happy to teach her if they ever find themselves near a beach.

Yay for friendly acquaintances!
Isn't it annoying when that happens? XD
Hamish is fine with that.

Awesome! Because we all know Larissa and Hamish can't get their own way on this. ;)
Lol oh, Anais. You can mutter under your breath about the strange ways of English men...

The Szczepanskis are like a richer, Polish Weasley family in some ways, so it would be pretty amusing if they did get on. Anzelm can probably find a Weasley to babysit or something. XD

This is why Aussie soap stars make good PBs :D
Fun times for them! Anais might escape for a long weekend when she has the time and wants to flee people like Miles, ha ha!

Oh, Larissa. You and Hamish aren't out of the woods yet...

How could I forget you were the one playing Demelza? I'm more affected by lack of sleep than I thought. :P (Curiously, the Demelza here plays for the Falcons. Talk about a small world...)
Miles will be more than happy to provide a little push in the right direction if Larissa and Hamish insist on sailing a certain river in Egypt. :P

Leah almost suggested Anzelm could babysit Percy, but stopped herself on time. :P

Indeed!
Tiago says she'll be welcome.

Ahahaha oh, Miles. You're so naughty. As long as it provides embarrassment for Larissa and Hamish, don't go changing ;)

Yeaaaaaaah Percy will never be Anzelm's favourite Weasley. Though now I think on it, Victoire will probably be of an age with Aurélia so there's that for him to talk about with Bill and Fleur!

Awesome :)

And that might give people an incentive to play Bill or Fleur over here, methinks. ;)

If wizarding toddler groups aren't a thing, they totally should be ;)

I missed him! Leon is quite cocky, Anzelm doesn't GAF what people think, so I needed a gentleman, ha ha!

Also, I just found some icons of Emma Rigby from her more recent work and I'm SO tempted... it'd be nice to have a Neville though, so I'll ponder some more...

I am sure we could find someone to play Neville. *looks askance at the other players*
