There's gotta be some Game of Thrones action going on, right? Stop hiding.

In all honesty, I was looking for something along the lines of this, but it seems to have folded.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to run an ASoIaF game, since all the characters are split up into groups, and there's no long-range instant communication. :P

I play Eddard over at [info]doors and I'd love some castmates! So far we have Daenerys, Robb, Theon, Renly, and Loras. Our Arya is still on the cast list, but she's getting swapped for Oracle so if you'd like to play her you're welcome to it! We also have a Sansa held too.

Sorry for the delay.

You have no idea how confused I was when I clicked your username and read through the bio/saw Daniel Craig as Theodore Winters (badass name, by the way). Of course, that merited me trolling through [info]doors for the next hour, hour and a half to find out what the heck was going on. That is a really neat concept. How often do you guys go through the Doors?

XD No worries. I definitely didn't explain it (because my explanations tend to be long and kind of confusing XD) School's just about to start up for everyone so it'll be a little slow probably for the next couple weeks until everyone gets settled into new routines and such, but Theo lets Ned through when he wants. Unfortunately, after losing Jon and soon Arya, he's not really interested in crossing. As soon as he catches wind of Sansa he'll be like "FOREVER AND EVER WHENEVER YOU WANT PLEASE LET ME LOVE YOU" because he thinks he failed miserably as a father, which will get him through the door a bit more.

Renly's got himself the Iron Throne now, but Dany's trying to gather her forces. Ned is valiantly trying to keep her at bay by educating her on the actual history of Westeros. Ned and Robb have both come to the conclusion that they're better off with the North being separate. Is there someone you're inclined to play?

Urgh, school, don't remind me. I've got six days of horrible, horrible freedom left and they need not be rushed. And poor Ned. If ever there was a man that deserved a better fate, it is Eddard Stark. Shows what happens when you try and do what's right as opposed to what's most convenient and beneficial. Or shows what happens when you mess with the bull, I don't know. He was like thiiis close to taking the black before Joff decided to give the people a show, too. :[

The characters I tend to pick up usually come equipped with a sense of humor, ruling out guys like Stannis or Viserys. I'm not sure. Who would you most like to see?

Sense of humor made me think of Tyrion, who Ned actually likes just from watching the tv show. I'd honestly be happy with anyone though!!

You haven't read the books? Shock! Awe! I may or may not have finished Game of Thrones last night and subsequently may or may not be a hundred pages into Clash right now. Tell no one.

Did I read it correctly that all the canons come from the same time as the first character that applied? So, if you were the first with Ned, the world of Westeros picked up from the point that his head and body become separate entities?

I'm trying!! I just hate reading Catelyn's parts lmao.

And, no that would be incorrect. The world through the door comes from one particular canon point (right at the end of the first season) but everyone comes from different points. Dany comes from the last book I think and Robb comes from after the red wedding, etc. I wasn't the first. We had a Tyrion first and then Jon and Ned so we just decided to have the world set from that canon point instead of something else. Plus, all the characters have to be at least 18, so for some of them, it's less of a jump to take them from further along in the series.

If that's not clear, I'm on my phone ATM so I can definitely clarify when I'm at my computer and not the grocery store XD

Some Ned you are, pbsh. Catelyn's chapters don't bug me, I think in part because of who she keeps company with. Rodrik Cassel is kind of a boss, and then she meets up with Petyr/Ned, Tyrion, and Robb's bannermen. That and I'm a sucker for wartime stuff, and she's with the northern army for a not-small portion of time.

No, no, I gotcha. When you're done buying Oreos and hot sauce and stuff, maybe you could explain what it's like to pick up a character that's already been played?

XD Part of it is because I've seen the show already and it followed the book (so far) very closely, near as I could tell. I love the show so much too XD

It really depends on who you pick up. Tyrion didn't do much and the characters he interacted with are all gone now. With Arya and Jon, their OCs are still in game (they're Vegas sides), so it could add an extra dimension on their parts since they remember having Arya and Jon respectively. I personally tend to approach it as "Hey, you're a new version, not the old version, but you're still my kid so I'm going to love you forever and ever anyway" and Ned will be able to explain how things work.

Also. I really wish I'd read that while I was still in the grocery store because I would've bought double stuffed oreos.

You're also not limited to characters who are alive (obviously), but I mean like...if you wanted to pick up Brandon or Lyanna or any of those, that would be awesome too!!

I try to keep an open mind and not to be picky, so believe me when I use the cliche that anything goes. AU, tales from The Hedge Knight era, tales from long after all the POV characters are dead and gone. A concept I recently stumbled across that I reallyreally liked fell through, of course, because that's what happens to all the ideas I like.

OMG i just tried to hold at that game, not realizing it had closed.

aaaanyway. My experience is all in with canons (mostly Sansa, a little Loras and Dany, etc,) but I am totally open to going with OCs or very minor characters. I too am deeply jonesing to write in the universe, basically, so i'm pretty open as well!

I cried a little inside, not gonna lie. It would've been perfect, not just because it's one of the only GoT-y things I've stumbled across on ij.

Have you seen any of my conversation with Lord Stark/James Bond up there? Would [info]doors be something that you're interested in? Their Daenerys and Loras spots are taken, and Sansa is on hold, and I'd understand if that style of game isn't your thing.

It's a shame that game folded. I've been at 2 GOT/ASOIAF games on this server and they've just eventually died. Before the in-universe game everyone is talking about there were two modern AUs earlier this year, and those folded or never launched.

Lately I've noticed GOT/ASOIAF sort of regulated to PSLs or multifandoms, where you can probably find a line if you play one of the main characters. I'm into supporting ones (usually the morally grey, older, or evil at that), so I've given up on it by now.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

I have to second [info]doors. I don't usually like panfandoms but I love this one.
