Setting a Journal to a PRIVATE default setting (*EDITED* May 30, 2008)
1)If you are not logged in yet, log in here:

2)Go here if you are logged in:

You'll see a small admin console window. Cut and paste one of the following commands:
set newpost_minsecurity friends
set newpost_minsecurity private
3) Press the EXECUTE button.
Those commands will make all of your future posts "friends only" or "private - only you can see them" by default. You can change any entry to public or friends individually. This is an excellent feature if you want to have control of your entries (public ones will be cashed by Google or other web-crawlers in no time)
If you want to revert your default journal posting setting to Public, log in, go to the admin console and cut and paste a following command:
set newpost_minsecurity public
If you are a community owner, the command will be:
set for [insert your comm's name] newpost_minsecurity friends
